Not everything goes according to plan… and sometimes that’s when your designer really earns their keep. 👀
For this project, the specification was clear: solid oak.
We specified solid oak.
We were quoted for solid oak.
And our client paid for solid oak.
What was delivered, however, was oak-veneered plywood.
And while veneer absolutely has its place in furniture design, it wasn’t what had been specified, quoted or paid for.
For us, that wasn’t something we were prepared to simply accept on our client’s behalf.
What followed wasn’t the glamorous side of interior design. Emails, negotiations, documentation and ultimately having to pursue the matter legally to recover our client’s money.
But we persisted.
And we succeeded in securing the full refund. 🙌🏼
Because working with SEEK. isn’t only about choosing beautiful finishes, creating mood boards and designing spaces that photograph well.
It’s also about having someone in your corner who will check the details, ask the uncomfortable questions and advocate for what you paid for.
Once the matter was resolved, we made the decision to move in a completely different direction.
We returned closer to the original concept proposal, refined the design and appointed new manufacturers for both the custom bed and bedside pedestals.
And sometimes, a frustrating detour leads you right back to where the design was meant to go in the first place. ✨
