Original oil on 33cm x 45cm, number 10, 13 x 17 count canvas bandaged ear and pipe self portrait of Vincent van Gogh.
The proportions of the painting are absolutely correct.
The paint pigments and colours of the paints used have been verified as correct for the period late 19th century by the senior analytical researcher at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
Further research as to the provenance of the portrait by an internationaly renowned scholar of van Gogh with 57 years experience places it possibly in the hands of Cornelis (Cor) Vincent van Gogh as one of 5 paintings given as a gift to him by Theo's widow on his departure from Europe to South Africa and dates the painting the only time possible to have been painted is between 1890 and 1893 due to the correctness portrayed in relation to 2 other well known bandaged ear portraits in existance in museums.
Unfortunately this portrait has never been cleaned after at least 131 years or more exposure to the elements of nature.
The staff members of the previous 3 generations of the original owners also created other damage which can be repaired by conservators of fine art using the same paints and pigments as on this portrait which are still available at a small cost considering the historical value of of the piece.
An email has been sent to to the senior researcher, who is apparently the only person in the world able to authenticate van Gogh's works, at the van Gogh Museum in The Netherlands but alas no reply as yet.
Any interested parties to purchase the portait can whats app me on the international phone number supplied.
