Sometimes I look back at an older wedding and immediately remember why we made certain choices.

Here, it was the contrast. The traditional blue-and-white Delft ceramics against bold, slightly unruly flowers — with everything else kept warm and uncomplicated.

One year later, and I still love this combination.

“I want happy colours.”
That was the brief.

Not a specific flower list or an exact Pinterest reference. Just a feeling and a clear direction.

Our bride happens to be the creative behind branding and visual identity company — so her eye for colour made complete sense.

We worked with pastels, stronger pops of colour and some of the more interesting flower varieties we could get our hands on.

It rained most of the afternoon at Rosemary Hill. Nobody seemed particularly bothered. The colours certainly weren’t 🌸

STANDARD ROSE vs SPECIALITY GARDEN ROSE

A speciality rose offers a fuller flower head, higher petal count, more interesting shape and considerably more presence. It takes fewer stems to create visual impact, but each stem comes at a premium.

Two estimates can list the same flowers and still deliver two completely different floral designs.

Flowers matter. But the variety matters too.

And this is where comparing floral estimates line for line becomes tricky.
