Chapter 5: The Female Restroom 🌿

The muses have started with the restroom.

Sage green. Cream. Air-dry clay.

There is definitely something wrong with that muse… 😂

She found my ouma’s old doilies and decided they needed to become dreamcatchers.

The muses have taken a little break from our makeover adventures and, of all things, discovered flower pressing. 🌿🌸

But not the old-fashioned flowers-inside-a-heavy-book-for-three-weeks kind.

Apparently, you can press flowers in the microwave! Who knew? 😄

So, with spring finally making an appearance, the muses have been gathering little leaves, ferns and flowers and experimenting with what they can press — and, more importantly, what they can make with them afterwards.

A little Muse magic…
An ordinary little tin wall planter has been given a completely new life.

We have a feeling the Muses are going to be putting mouldings on absolutely everything now… 🌿
SMUK

The Muses have gone slightly mould mad… 😂🌿

A whole bag of gorgeous new moulds arrived from SMUK, and apparently there is no such thing as too many. Borders, botanicals, scrolls, flourishes… the creative possibilities are already causing a bit of chaos at Serenity.

Now they are just waiting — rather impatiently — to get their hands on the air-dry clay.

And yes… we know some of you are going to want to play too. 🌿
We’re busy experimenting, testing and seeing just how much beautiful mischief we can make with these moulds and air-dry clay.

We’ll keep you posted on when everything is ready for you to come and create with us. 💙

The Muses just need to test them first. Purely for quality control, of course. 😉

The Muses have officially gone into hiding. 🥶

Apparently, it is far too cold for painting, sanding, stencilling… or, anything that requires leaving the duvet covers.

So, while we wait for them to reappear, we thought we’d leave you with a little inspiration from our new Velvet & Gears collection.

Think soft hydrangea blues, time-worn cream, sage, old clocks, gears and just enough steampunk mischief — all brought together in our new non-tear decoupage prints and stencils.

CHAPTER 4: The kitchen

Well… Ameera got hold of my inkjet printer. 😂

And apparently, once she discovered the printer and a packet of sticker paper, there was no stopping her.

She printed out her little vintage pâtisserie designs, stuck them onto a plain wooden stand (made by All4Woodcrafts), added a bit of distressing and suddenly…

A cupcake stand was born. 🧁🌸

Now, naturally, everyone has decided we need cupcakes to put in it.
