Design and project management are two different skill sets, and on our projects, they happen to live in the same house.

Lara designs it. Malcolm project-manages it on site, keeping contractors, timelines, and budgets aligned with the vision instead of working against it.

It's a big reason our projects come together the way they're drawn, not a compromised version of it 😀

Right here in Steyn City, this main ensuite was designed to feel like the bathroom in a five-star hotel room, the kind you don't want to leave.

A freestanding bath positioned to catch the morning light, natural stone underfoot, and not a single hard edge left unconsidered.

Ready to turn your bathroom into a room you actually look forward to?

Most bathrooms only have one type of light. The best ones have three 😄

Task lighting at the mirror, bright and shadow-free, for the parts you actually need to see clearly. Ambient lighting for the room as a whole. And a layer of mood lighting: a dimmer, a soft wall wash, for when the bathroom needs to feel like a retreat, not an operating theatre.

Get the layering right, and one bathroom can do two completely different jobs.

Not every spring space needs a garden.

This Polofields apartment's balcony was designed to feel just as considered as any garden terrace, framed views, weatherproof furnishings, and lighting for evenings outside.

Whatever your outdoor space looks like, there's a version of it worth designing properly.

Email or call us to start planning 🙂

“Is designing a renovation different to a new build?” We get this question often.

With a new build, we're shaping the layout from a blank page. With a renovation, we're designing around what already exists: structural walls, existing plumbing, a client's furniture they still love.

Both need the same care. Neither is simpler than the other, just different 😉

That's a wrap on our spring spaces series 🤍

Five homes, five different personalities, one shared thread: they were all designed to be enjoyed in exactly this season. Patios, verandas, a braai area, a sunroom: all reasons to be outside a little longer.

Grateful to the clients who trusted us with these homes, and to you for following along.

Happy Heritage Day 🇿🇦

However you're spending it, we hope there's good company, good food, and a space that makes hosting easy. This braai area at our Waterfall home was designed to do exactly that, built for exactly this kind of day.

If your own outdoor space isn't pulling its weight yet, let's talk. Email or call us.

A great entertaining space isn't about how much room you have. It's about how people move through it.

Where the braai sits in relation to the kitchen. Whether a host can cook and still be part of the conversation. How many steps it takes to refill a drink.

Get the flow right, and a space hosts itself. Get it wrong, and even a large area feels like hard work 😃

'Some of our favourite design choices didn't come from a European trend report, they came from here.

A built-in braai that's really the heart of the home. A stoep deep enough for a full Sunday lunch. Materials chosen because they age the way a South African home should.

Heritage shows up in the small decisions as much as the big ones. We like designing for that.

Right here in Steyn City, this home's veranda was designed to catch the morning sun with breakfast in mind.

It's small in square meterage, and one of the most-used rooms in the house. Proof that a well-designed spring space doesn't need to be grand to earn its place.

Curious what a space like this could look like in your home?
