Hi, I'm Shanna Mackay.

I've been posting rooms here for a while, so it felt about time I stepped out from behind them.

I'm an interior designer, and most days are split between designing and on site. Laying out samples, checking joinery lines, measuring out and making sure the details in my designs turn into your beautiful spaces.

What I care about most is how a home actually gets lived in. Where the bags get dropped, where the morning coffee happens, which chair everyone fights over. Get that right and the beautiful part comes easily.

So this won't just be the afters. You'll see the messy middle too: the sample piles, the second guesses, the bits that didn't make the cut. And the things that keep me inspired along the way, like an old building with good bones, a gallery wall, or the way light hits plaster at 4pm.

A room that whispers.
Luxury, is restraint held perfectly still. Warm soft toned cabinetry, an oak-detailed cooking hood, and a single seam of heritage stone drawn through the room like slow gold ink — nothing louder than the light that lands on it.

Swipe slowly: to see how we designed this kitchen for soft easy living.

30% coffee. 40% travelling to sites. 20% standing in an unfinished room seeing what nobody else can see yet and a little design on the side.
Most people see the finished room. This is the other 90%.
Design isn't the pretty part — it's the 400 small decisions that make the pretty part possible.

From cluttered and closed off to warm, considered, and built to last. This kitchen renovation brought soft sage cabinetry, warm timber tones, and black detailing together into a space that feels grounded rather than trendy — every finish chosen with intention, every corner designed to work as hard as it looks good. Swipe to see where it started.

For enquiries on your next project, reach out via DM, call, or email — we'd love to bring this same care to your space.

Fridays look a little different when you're building something beautiful. Site checks, progress updates, and walls going up — on site, in it together, watching the vision take shape brick by brick.

Morning at the new Nine Yards, Rosebank — sourcing and gathering ideas.
Love getting to see furniture and decor in person, touch, feel and take in. Loving the fluted oak, the ceramics, and unique decor.
Which one would you take home?
