This exquisite necklace belonged to Princess Khenmet and was discovered resting on her mummy. Dating to around 1932–1898 BCE, it is crafted from gold and set with semi-precious stones including carnelian, turquoise, and lapis lazuli—materials prized in ancient Egypt for both beauty and symbolism.

The necklace is composed of a series of protective amulets, reflecting the belief that jewelry could guard the wearer in life and in the afterlife. Such pieces were not merely decorative; they carried spiritual meaning and signaled elite status.

Today, the masterpiece is preserved in the Egyptian Museum, where it stands as a dazzling reminder of the artistry and spiritual traditions of Egypt’s Middle Kingdom.
