Yesterday, Cilel and I attended the opening of the Margate Art Gallery's annual art exhibition (Cilel's painting was accepted for display!). I was really impressed with the quality and variety of artwork. Here are some pictures of ceramic art by Ben Nsusha. PS. If you are wondering, the leather and cloth covers are actually ceramic, but the string is real.

'Just another kiln opening'...

There was a time when I was sressed when opening the kiln after a glaze firing.
Now with our amazing Potters, its a pleasure to see the ceramic works of art!

FUNCTIONAL ART at its best
Desk fan evaporative cooler by Roxy.
Beautiful intricate design, including porous raw terracoata clay, coloured glazes, chipped sea glass and broken memorable glass.
Water flows into the intricate hollow chambers, filtering into the porous body of the structure. Evaporation of water on the large porous surface area causes a temperature reduction of the passing air.
The caps of the chambers also accomodate ice cubes as if melting glaciers!
