HOW DOES A TUBULAR SKYLIGHT WORK ?
Natural light is reflected down through the opening in the roof profile to the room at the bottom. Natural sunlight is captured by the reflector in the dome of the skylight, and then reflected down the highly polished aluminium tube to the diffuser at the bottom of the system. This refracted diffuser allows the natural light and sunlight to be spread 360 degrees around the room, and 180 degrees against the ceiling, thereby lighting up the room. There is also a night light that can be switched on at night to work like a room light. The existing light in the room is usually incorporated into the skylight to prevent duplication and improve aesthetics.

Refurbishment done on a 6m x 2m barrel skylight. Frame cleaned, resprayed. Bronze acrylic sheeting replaced with more durable, weather tolerant, cooler opal polycarbonate sheeting to add many more years to the skylight, and provide an appealing comfortable interior. light
