Maison&Objet at Decorex Cape Town 2026.

This June, two leading voices from Maison&Objet / SAFI join FutureTalks, brought to you by Oggie Oak Flooring, at Decorex Cape Town and 100% Design Africa.

Paula Baúlde-Portas will join the programme as part of a conversation looking at international exchange, design platforms and the growing visibility of African design.

Philippe Delhomme, President of the SAFI Executive Board, joins Future Talks for a session connecting international design thinking with the South African home and interiors market.

Their participation forms part of Decorex Africa’s wider relationship with Maison&Objet: a connection built around visibility, exchange and new pathways for design from South Africa and the continent.

At Decorex Cape Town 2026, Lexus South Africa presents The Recharge Garage, a design-led feature that reimagines the garage as more than a place to park.

Anchored by the Lexus RZ 500e, and designed by Tshepo Sealetsa, the space explores the garage as a threshold between movement and home: a place to arrive, pause, restore and reset.

Meet the first speakers joining the Homewarestore Cooking Studio at Decorex Cape Town.

Across four days, the Cooking Studio brings together chefs, authors, food creators and culinary personalities for live demos, tastings and kitchen conversations shaped around cooking, hosting and the rituals of home.

The first names in the line-up include Naqiyah Mayat, Zola Nene, Sam Linsell of drizzle and dip, Serena and Fabien of Crème and Croissant Baking School, Lauren and Ethan from UCOOK, Kyle Hickman from AFRIKOA Fine Chocolate, Food Jams, The Charming Chef and more.

To mark 62 years of this remarkable initiative, Santam is introducing a limited edition range of merchandise featuring children’s artworks, with a portion of proceeds going towards funding art classes for children from disadvantaged communities.

At Decorex Cape Town and Joburg, this becomes part of a broader story about creativity, care, and the importance of making space for the next generation of dreamers.

The next generation of South African design is heading to Paris.

Following the announcement of the international jury for the Maison&Objet Rising Talent Awards 2026, we’re proud to share the seven South African laureates selected for this year’s edition.

Working across furniture, collectible design, lighting, ceramics and material-led exploration, these emerging creatives offer a vivid picture of where South African design is going: rooted in craft, shaped by cultural memory, and moving confidently into new forms of contemporary expression.
