In the bible, Genesis 1:26 ✝ says,
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
Looking at that verse we see how God is desiring to have something to be like him an express image of himself he is in a way willing to share his attributes, character, power and authority. He doesn't want to enjoy his capabilities and likeness on his own but the verse clearly shows how he wants to create something that can be like him. Fast forward to many years after the creation of man when Jesus the Son of God comes to earth there was a time he said to his disciples in the book of John 14:12, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. After reading those two verses it is clearly evident how God desires that mankind has the same attributes and capabilities as him, that's how generous, loving and caring he is.
This makes me wonder how we look at each other in respect to the gifts, talents, possessions we have. Do we desire that our fellow mates also have the same capabilities we have or even manifest them in a better way than us, we all have different talents but do we use these to rule over those who don't have them or do we desire that they too can have them or even more than us. Your possessions, do you wish others can have the same as you have or you would rather have them have less than what you possess. I am not saying you should give and be left with little or less but the question is how much do you desire for those that don't have the same privileges as you to be at the same level as yours. Maybe you are blessed with this world's material possessions do you so wish that everyone else would one day have the same or you want to be the one thethey always look up to, do you have spiritual gifts that you feel everyone else should also possess or you feel it was given to you and only you should operate in those gifts. Maybe you have got a wonderful marriage, do you want others to enjoy theirs the same way you do or you mock them for divorcing or having faults in their relationships. The world can only be a better place when we esteem others better than ourselves. I am not in any way saying we should lose sleep because of desiring that people become better but I am saying let it be a wish and prayer filled with compassion towards others that they too can live a life of dominion and abundance. Remember Jesus came and died that we could be like him, God desires that we all be perfect like him. So why can't we also be like our God, by hoping people can enjoy the same fulfilling lives we have but better still that they could even end up being much better versions of us. Imagine if everyone was selfish, self centred not thinking about others there wouldn't be any growth or multiplication of talents but look at how God gave man a brain and now we have so many inventions that have made life easier for us but think of it that it's not even God who has invented those things but all he did was to give a likeness and image and there has been so much to enjoy in the world as a result of his generosity. I know we all should be like Jesus, but my question to you is how many people do you wish to be at the same level of your understanding, knowledge, talents, gifts and possessions. Life is all about multiplication, my prayer is for there to be a multiplication, replica of all the individual capabilities the world posesses. As we exercise our spiritual gifts, use our talents and give to others let us have a mindset of hoping that they break from a life of limitation but let's do the best we can to empower them that they too can live above limitation and they also be able to help others too so that the chain will go on and on until we all strive to make others a better version of themselves. Each individual has something to give, you might think I don't have what it takes to empower others, little things like a smile, listening to someone attentively during a conversation without interrupting them, a word of encouragement, your gentleness, politeness, patience, compassion, care and kindness also go a long way to empower others so everyone has the ability one way or the other to make others become better so generosity is not only material but we can be generous with our personality and this is much more influential than any other way. Let us learn from nature and how it is constantly giving to us without restrictions, the sun is giving us light and heat and makes us see and feel warm, plants are giving us oxygen for us to breathe, the soils give nutrients to our crops in agriculture, that is the beauty of nature always giving one way or the other and that's what life is all about.
