Position: ESTIMATOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join our estimation team within the organization.
Reporting to the Head of CAAPS
Key Result Areas:
· Reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify the scope of work.
· Quantifying and estimating the cost of materials, labour, equipment, and other resources required for the project.
· Preparing detailed cost estimates, including breakdowns for each component of the project.
· Gathering and analyzing relevant data to prepare competitive bids for construction projects.
· Coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information.
· Ensuring the bid aligns with the project requirements and the company's profit margin. Submitting the bid proposal within the specified deadline.
· Implementing new techniques, software, or tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimating.
· Maintaining detailed records of all cost estimates, bids, and project-related documents.
· Identifying and analyzing any cost variances, and providing recommendations for cost-saving measures.
Qualifications and Attributes:
· HND in Quantity Surveying or related qualification.
· Bachelor degree in an industry-relevant subject, which can include civil, structural or mechanical engineering, quantity surveying and construction management is an added advantage.
· Coursework or certifications in construction estimating, project management, and construction materials.
· Hands-on 3+ years experience in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings preferably with a focus on glass and aluminium-related projects.
· Knowledge of Auto CAD, Arch CAD, Bizman, Microsoft Excel.
