The dressing room was such a fun and hectic experience!!

It was my first time fitting my Bulawayo based model and I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. I had simply relied on the measurements I was given and created the outfit here in Harare.

But guess what? It was a perfect fit!

📖 STORY TIME📖

Whilst in Bulawayo for the Edgars Fashion Extravaganza, I had the opportunity to pass through my former school, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and it brought back so many memories!

I remembered my very first lecture after enrolling for a Bachelor of Engineering in Textile Technology. Our lecturer went around the room asking why we had chosen the programme. I remember confidently telling him that I wanted to become a Fashion Designer (dzungu too much 😂) The lecturer looked at me in the eye and said I was in the wrong class 😂
Honestly, I probably was but somehow, being in that “wrong class” worked out perfectly! Years later, I returned to NUST as the Fashion Designer I had always dreamt of becoming!

Sometimes the path to your dream may not look exactly as you imagined but it can still lead you exactly where you are meant to be. ❤️

The past few days have been such a whirlwind that I’ve barely had time to catch my breath after the Edgars Fashion Extravaganza! 😅

Crochets ’n’ Knits Villa officially took to the runway in Bulawayo, showcasing our Threads of Time collection and what an incredible experience it was!!

This is how your girl showed up and showed off in a dress designed and made by yours truly. 😉

If you have been wondering where I've been...…well, I’ve been BUSY behind the scenes working on something very exciting! 🥳

For the past few weeks, I’ve been fully immersed in the Edgars Local Designers Project, putting my heart, creativity and crochet skills into bringing a very special collection to life!!

And now… IT’S SHOW WEEK! 🎉🔥🔥 💃

This week, our pieces will be hitting the runway at the EDGARS Fashion Extravaganza in Bulawayo, celebrating EDGARS’ 80th Anniversary!

I honestly can’t wait to see our crochet creations come alive on the runway and most importantly, to see crochet represented in a completely different light!!
