We brought Bloor Village Flowers to their Queen Street location for both their pop up and grand opening celebration, and it was such a fun experience being part of these special events. 💐

A 15 year friendship, a 96th birthday, and a little flower shop detective work. 💐❤️

For the past 15 years, one of our customers in New York has sent flowers to her dear friend at Grenadier Chartwell Retirement Residence in Toronto.

But over the last two years, something changed. Her friend stopped calling her back.

She knew her friend had been very ill at one point, but she had no idea just how serious things had become. She tried sending flowers again this year, hoping to reconnect, but the retirement residence couldn’t share any confidential information about its residents.

Our customer had just one question.

“Is she still alive?”

So we stepped in. 🌸

After a little flower shop detective work, we found out that her friend was, in fact, alive and well and kicking it at breakfast that very morning, celebrating her 96th birthday! 🎂🥳

We created an ikebana inspired arrangement especially for her, and made sure it reached her on her special day. 💐

15 years of friendship, thousands of kilometres apart, and a birthday bouquet that almost didn’t happen.

Sometimes flowers are more than flowers. They’re a way of saying “I’m thinking of you,” “I haven’t forgotten you,” and “I’m so glad you’re still here.” ❤️

Happy 96th birthday to a very special lady! 🎂💐
