🧸❤️ THE PERSON BEHIND THE BUSINESS…
For those of you who are new to my page, I thought I'd take a wee moment to introduce myself and share a little about the person behind Beloved Bears by Libby 🥰
I'm Libby, and over six years ago, I began my wee journey into creating memory bears. What started as something very personal has grown into a business that means more to me than I could ever have imagined ❤️
In 2020, I lost my dear mum to cancer, followed by my dad who passed suddenly the following year. Losing both of my parents in such a short space of time was absolutely heartbreaking and changed my life forever.
It also gave me a much deeper understanding of just how precious those little things we have left behind can become.
A favourite cardigan, a well-worn shirt, a pair of pyjamas… clothing that still holds so many memories of the person we love and miss.
Being able to turn those precious belongings into something that can be held and treasured is something I feel incredibly privileged to do 🧸❤️
I genuinely love my job, and one of the most special parts is meeting the lovely people who walk through my door.
Every single bear has a story behind it. Some stories make us laugh, some bring a tear to our eyes, and some stay with me long after the bear has left my workshop.
There's always time for a wee blether, a listening ear and sometimes even a hug 🥰
Through my own experiences of loss, and meeting so many people navigating their own grief through my business, I developed a real interest in understanding bereavement and how differently it affects us all.
This led me to study for and achieve my Grief and Bereavement Counselling certification, something I'm incredibly proud of ❤️
Not because I have all the answers, but because I wanted to better understand and support the people I meet, often during some of the most difficult times of their lives.
I never forget the trust my customers place in me when they hand over clothing that is so incredibly precious and, in many cases, completely irreplaceable.
Every little bear is carefully created with love, care and attention, knowing just how much it will mean to the person receiving it.
And although my business has grown over the years, and I've since gone on to create Memorial Jewellery too, my Beloved Bears will always hold a very special place in my heart 🧸
Because for me, it's never been just about making bears.
It's about the people, the stories, the memories and the love stitched into every single one ❤️
Knowing that something I've made with my own two hands might bring someone a little comfort, a smile through their tears or simply give them something to hold when they're missing someone they love… well, that means absolutely everything to me.
I'm so proud of how far my wee business has come and incredibly grateful to every single person who has supported me and trusted me with their precious memories over the years.
I only wish my mum and dad were here to see what their memory helped me build. I think they'd be super proud ❤️
