🐺🌘 The Black Shuck prowls along dark lanes and footpaths of Suffolk - his howl will make your blood run cold but his footsteps make no sound…
Legend tells of a large black demon dog which burst in through the doors of St Mary’s Church in Bungay in 1577 to a clap of thunder. It ran up the nave, killing a man and boy, caused the church steeple to collapse through the roof, moving onward to create more death and destruction.
Scorch marks on the door of Blythburgh Church said to be from the Demon Dog’s terrifying visit can still be seen to this day…
The village of Bungay hold a Black Shuck Festival each year alongside an Art Exhibition dedicated to East Anglian Folk Tales.
That’s why our Guest Artist for October created these wonderful artworks - to be part of that exhibition.
We have some of the last few original framed prints in the edition, plus Black Shuck cards and bookmarks.

Our Guest Artist uses Mezzotint art prints to connect us with Nature.
Mezzotint is an intaglio engraving technique which produces soft graduations and rich, velvety blacks.
Louise’s beautiful art prints about Nature, Bees, Insects and - Black Shuck, the demon dog of Bungay, is with us until the end of October.

🐝Did you know? It takes the working life of 12 Honeybees to make a teaspoon of honey… 🍯
Guest Artist for October is fascinated by Bees and gains great satisfaction knowing her artwork is generating awareness towards promoting their importance.
Louise mostly uses a technique called Mezzotint, an intaglio process using a toothed tool to create thousands of tiny pits and burrs that hold ink. This creates a deep richness to blacks and a delightful fuzziness to the bees.
Her work has been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and featured on the covers of bumblebee ecologist, Dave Goulson’s books, ‘A Sting in the Tale’ and ‘A Buzz in the Meadow’.
We have framed and unframed original artworks, cards, posters, enamel mugs, bookmarks and handy pocket guides to the 8 most commonly found British Bumblebees.
Louise’s work will be with us throughout October - please make sure you don’t miss this beautiful exhibition!

Bury St Edmunds Ceramic Artist with her colourful collection of Venus swimmers - highly decorated ceramic hanging decorations - celebrating female forms in their swimwear.

🩶 GUEST ARTIST FOR JULY 🩶 Beautiful and functional stoneware and porcelain ceramics by
Claire is a small batch potter based near Saffron Walden, Essex. She hand throws all of her work on the potters wheel using stoneware and porcelain, which is then fired to 1,240C.
She particularly loves the transformation from raw clay to a highly glazed finished surface, and her work always contains unglazed surfaces to highlight this contrast.
The resulting pieces are highly tactile and are made to be used, handled and loved.
We have plates, cups, mugs, vases and bowls and a very special 6 piece Platter Set in Ink blue glaze - which would make a perfect gift for any Green Tea drinker.
Individual Green Tea Cups are also available in a range of colours.
Available throughout July while stocks last…
