I managed to make an extra surprise from leftover jeans fabric, a lovely washbag he can take everywhere and have a small part of his mum with him... A stunning gift to treasure for life ❤️💙

Happy birthday to my little business.
I've had quite a few new followers over the last month so this is a good opportunity to reintroduce myself.
Hi 👋 I'm Dawn, owner of the Elizabeth Arnold sewing studio, established on the 5th of July 2004. I named my business after both my parents Arnold and Elizabeth (Betty) both had passed away and I wanted to create something in their memory and here I am 22 years later still providing a sewing service.
I've been sewing professionally for 41 years. I'm bridal trained and have worked in various establishments over the years gaining lots of valuable experience. I started my business offering alterations and curtains in the back of my garage after my divorce to pay all the necessary bills involved to raise 2 children on my own. Business grew quickly and I rented a small unit at Lady heyes. After a few years I moved into a larger unit and a few years later moved into one of the largest freestanding units on site to also sell fabric.
2 years ago I made the huge decision to leave Lady heyes and convert my garage into a studio so I could work from home to enable me to become a foster carer. And it was the best decision ever! I still offer a make up service for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings and also make memory/baby quilts which I really love. I will also be launching an Heirloom shirt service very soon so watch out for that. All sewing now takes place around my fostering duties. But get in touch if there's anything I can help you with. A recent commission for a lovely little one taking part in national gymnastics competition. The theme was 'The last of us' a mushroom/zombie effect. I was given carte blanche in the design and bags of accessories. It was so much fun.
p.s she won 1st for costume design and also into the next round for her amazing skills ❤️

Ready-made curtains nowadays are made with such poor quality linings. Over the 22 years of owning my business, I've seen a decline in quality of lining fabrics from even the luxury brands.
Quality linings make your curtain hang beautifully, plus block out the light and protect your curtain fabric.
Recent ready-made curtains having linings changed to increase longevity and block out light.
When making curtains or replacing linings, I use 100% British cotton with a teflon coating, this helps protect the curtains from damp from condensation. As you can see from the photos, the quality is amazing ❤️

I just asked Google what is a mother and had this response.

Mothers day is such a lovely day but can be so triggering for many people. Not every person has a positive experience, some may have lost their Mum, some may not be able to be a Mum, some may be miles away from their Mum, some may not be on speaking terms with their Mum.

I've been incredibly lucky, I had a lovely Mum and have had the pleasure of raising two amazing sons who I absolutely adore 💙💙 And I'm now also lucky enough to be a foster Mum to a lovely little girl who is fast becoming an integral part of my life 💜

Not everyone is so lucky, please be kind today, if you're out for a meal or encounter any kind of service provided today, please remember, they may be missing out on family time to work to pay for bills etc.
