Stage Mark / LX Tape / PaperTak / Chalk Pens
4 Different Products, each with useful applications, but which one is the quickest for marking out? We decided to put it to the test.
🥇 Chalk Pens - We've heard that customers were trying out chalk pens as a more sustainable alternative to single use tape, which can't be recycled or reused. With Chalk Pens, it is easy to just draw around things. Although very quick, it is also the most difficult of the four options to remove, whether accidentally or deliberately.
🥈 Stage Mark - Very quick and simple for marking out, won't come up when being walked over or having pieces of set move over it. Invented by a stage manager, for stage managers. Saves time and creates less waste.
🥉 PaperTak - Was invented as a more sustainable option to LX Tape. It is a paper-based tape with a natural rubber adhesive. You can easily tear it with your hands, making it quicker than LX tape as no fiddling around with scissors required. Due to its nature of being paper based, it may leave behind a residue when peeled off, however a bit of Rustins Sticky Off will do the trick nicely.
🏅 LX Tape - The old reliable. Takes the most time but also what everyone is used to and happy with. Won't come off when people and sets are moving over it and won't leave behind much residue.
