Throwing more large comfort mugs, as you all can't seem to get enough of them! Nice problems to have. A wee slow mo section in this one to watch the mug bloom.

First hour, unpacking kiln! Now to get my glazing breeks on! This load has tankards, mugs, bowls of all sizes, jugs galore, a 'checks notes' chodload of spoon rests, vases, salt pigs, and my first prototype tea bowls for my 'Raw' project. Handmade ceramics to the quality we offer take skill and time to produce. Particularly with my complex forms. However, not everyone can afford whatvthatvtime costs. My aim with Raw is to keep forms simple, only throw, sponge and glaze. This drastically reduces active time and boosts units made allowing me to offer handmade at home for less. Initial plans are for a tea bowl, meal bowl and plate.

Today's works in progress. One or two tealight holders, some tiny jugs and vases and a couple of big jugs to boot. Unpacking the bisque kiln tomorrow, and then glazing for the rest of the week.

Hours of kiln packing work, sponging and stacking in a few seconds and a jaunty tune to give an air of whimsey! This kiln will run for a day at 100°c to ensure a dry load, then fire for 9 hours, cool for a day and a half to finally unpack. The contents represent around four weeks of throwing, trimming, engraving, handling and drying. Can't wait to glaze them! But I have to. 🤣
