Hindolveston Crafts in Action Hindolveston is home to a talented group of people who demonstrate and sell their crafts. Saturday evening from 6.30pm to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

We hold 2 events each year - a demonstration day in August and a Christmas Craft Market in December. Our Christmas Craft Market, where everything on sale is made by the stallholder, is normally on the first weekend in December. But, sadly, not in 2020. We hope you will still find something hand crafted to love from the selection on our pages here.

Free Motion Machine Stitching with Pauline Wrighton
Saturday 17th October 10.00-4.00 £70pp

Our next Crafts in Action workshop is next month so don't forget to book! Village resident Pauline will be showing us the techniques of free motion machine stitching.

The workshop is suitable for those who are new to free motion and the more experienced.

You will be guided through setting up your machine for free motion and then work through simple exercises with hints, tips and ideas on how to use this technique. We will finish by creating a small lacy stitched bowl worked on soluble fabric.

Bring your sewing machine, darning or embroidery foot, a couple of spare bobbins, a small pair of scissors, an 8- or 10-inch embroidery hoop, a one-pint pudding basin to mould your bowl, and your machine's handbook (if you have one).

If you enjoyed our Craft Day you'll like the Burnham Market Craft Market. It's on tomorrow, 15th August, from 9am to 5pm. Among the nearly 100 craft stalls spread across the village greens you will find our own crafters, Neil and Julie with their The Traditional Rope Company collection and Wendy of Wendow's Windows with her Tiffany glassware. It's a great event if you are a fan of genuine handmade crafts.

Our Crafts in Action Day was a great success. Thank you to all our talented makers who spent the day making, and chatting to our lovely visitors. Thanks to everyone who baked and served cake, and all our other helpers, and especially to all of you who came to see us. Details of our up-coming craft workshops will be posted here. Another newcomer to our village will be joining us on Sunday. Richard Whymark paints in acrylic using texture and colour to bring his landscapes to life. He uses a palette knife, glue and many other materials to add layers to his paintings. His love of the Norfolk coastal marshes inspired much of his recent work.
