STALLHOLDERS DON’T TURN UP, PUT A TABLE OUT AND MAKE A FORTUNE.
If only.
Before you walk through the doors, someone has probably spent hour, sometimes days, getting ready.
Making stock.
Pricing.
Packing.
Loading the car.
Driving.
Unloading.
Setting up.
Standing behind a stall for hours.
Packing it all away again.
Driving home.
And then unloading the car AGAIN.
Some markets are brilliant.
Some are okay.
Some don’t cover the cost of being there.
That’s the bit you don’t normally see on social media.
So when someone buys something from a stall, however small…
it genuinely matters.
Behind every Folk & Bespoke table is a small business taking a chance on people turning up.
And we think that’s worth supporting.

TIME SENSITIVE 🎨 💰
Hi everyone. Hope you're all having a restful Sunday.

As many of you are probably aware, I have been co-managing and selling my seaglass art in the Made On The Marsh - New Romney local art shop run by the Community Hub.

Sadly, the Hub’s lease ends soon, and the last day trading under them is October 24th.

We really don’t want to lose the shop and all the opportunities it gives to us as artists, but also as a vibrant and friendly space for our local community and visitors to the area.

A small group of us are setting up a Community Interest Company (CIC) to take over the lease, renovate the shop, and run it as a non-profit.

We are also hoping to be able to provide affordable workshops and guest slot opportunities to allow even more artists to showcase their work.

To secure the lease, refit the space, and cover the first three months of running costs, we need to raise £19,000!

Because we are a new entity, traditional funders want to see a track record we don't have yet, but if we can show that local people value what we bring to the high street, they may be willing to offer us some of the funds we need.

This is where we need your help. We will shortly be launching a crowdfunder campaign. Your pledge will only be collected if we hit our target. If we miss the target, you don't pay a penny.

We know that getting the campaign off to a great start will massively increase the chances of success.

Just one week to go!
Until we’re back for the monthly craft fair at Hythe Town Hall in Kent.
There will be a fantastic group of crafters, artists, authors and makers selling there hand made and unique items including: hand made cards using quilling techniques, a range of crocheted items, hand painted feathers, drift wood boats, hand made jewellery, bunting, household and some fabulous art work etc all made from very skilled local artisans.
