The temperature has dropped which means we’re all about to start spending a LOT more time in the kitchen. After spending most of summer in the ‘it’s too hot to turn the oven on’ camp, I’m very ready for it.

Good news for soups. Bad news for that hideous utensil pot you’ve been meaning to replace.

Time for a countertop clear out.

September always makes me want to buy new stationery and start again. Which feels quite appropriate for this one.

I recently sat down with my old uni, , to talk about everything that’s happened since I left. Fashion, building a brand, closing a brand, starting again, discovering clay and somehow ending up here.

My career has definitely not followed the route I thought it would when I was a student. Thank god, really. There have been quite a few first days along the way. A lot of learning as I go. And a fair amount of having absolutely no idea what I’m doing until I’m doing it.

So, in the spirit of September: here’s to starting again. However many times it takes.

The Stratus Console Table… pick your colours. Make it yours.

One of my favourite things about this piece is that you get to have a say in exactly how it looks. The ceramic spheres can be made in any of our 12 colour combinations, so you can match it to a particular room or go completely rogue. Think Terracotta, Brown & White as shown here, or keep things a little more neutral, but still playful, with Oatmeal & White.

And it doesn’t stop there. We offer personalisation across our entire furniture collection, from finishes and colours to the smaller details that make a piece feel properly yours. One of the many joys of making things by hand.

Made in London, made for you. Simple as that.

Choose your colour. It’s a hard choice, I know.

Hand forged patinated bronze table top and solid bronze frame with sand cast pebble bronze feet and suspended earthenware ceramic spheres. All made by hand in London.

A very good pairing: Stratus & Marble Origin🏺

Good legs. Great feet.

Here she is in Terracotta & White. A studio staple.

I’ve just got back from a few days in the Alps where, somewhat unusually for me, I didn’t have my phone with me. And it got me thinking about how much time we spend looking at things instead of actually doing them.

Researching. Planning. Saving things for later. Watching other people make things, go places, try things. Somehow convincing ourselves that all of that preparation is the same as experience.

Obviously, it isn’t.

At some point you have to stop thinking about getting in the water and just fuc*ing swim.

Been looking back at everything we’ve launched recently and, despite the different shapes, patterns and slightly mad ideas, there’s one thing they all have in common: they’ve been made by hand. By actual people, in our London studio.

Hands mixing clay, building forms, creating patterns, glazing, firing, finishing. Which means no two pieces will ever be completely identical. And that’s sort of the whole point.

We’ve made a lot this summer. New shapes, new colours, new patterns and a fair few things I’d been wanting to make for a very long time.

So here’s a little appreciation post for the hands that make it all happen. And for things that look, feel and actually are handmade. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

For the bank holiday table: more pattern, more colour, more flowers.

Same idea, different colourways, all pulled together without feeling too perfect.

Exactly how we like it.

New In: The Origin Vase, now in our signature Marble pattern.

The Origin Vase is one of my favourite things we’ve made, so bringing it into our Marble collection felt inevitable.

I love this shape because it gives the pattern room to breathe. Every curve catches it differently, so wherever you look, you notice something new.

Now available on our website at the link in our bio.

One of my favourite shapes, the Origin Vase, is launching tomorrow in our signature Marble pattern.

Leave it bare, fill it with dahlias, shove some enormous branches in it. There are really no wrong answers. Make it your own.
