Introducing Chris Judge who will be joining us on Saturday 21st November.

Chris is a knitwear designer working from his studio in Brighton, England. Chris is passionate about design, colour and style and has worked in the knitwear industry for over twenty years. Chris is inspired by colour, texture and yarn and love creating new designs that reflect the colourful landscapes of the south coast and the cosmopolitan city of Brighton.

In many respects his knitted accessories collection is the culmination of numerous design commissions from international design companies and fashion houses such a Missoni, Fendi, Max Mara, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Givenchy. A couple of years ago he decided to create his own collection, spurred on by numerous requests for scarves and other types of neckwear from friends and colleagues. His latest collection is divided into two main categories: Scarves and Snoods with lots of interesting variations of each.

We welcome back Kim Rogers who will be joining us on Friday 20th November.

Kim Rogers makes decorations and sculptures for the home and garden from wire and beads. She makes free standing, three-dimensional pieces, as well as two dimensional pieces, designed to hang up. She also makes a range of cards with detachable decorations. By making each piece free hand, by bending and twisting the wire, each piece is unique. Kim uses recycled materials where possible and is mostly inspired by nature. She completed a BA hons degree in Design Crafts from Hereford college of Art and Design and has done many craft fairs all over the country. She produces her work from her home in Shropshire.

Introducing Karen Scrase who will be joining us on Sunday 22nd November.

Capturing moments experienced in nature through the centuries old craft of Stained Glass Painting. Working instinctively with combinations of colours & textures of glass cut into shapes to fit the designs. Painting images from nature with Reuche paints to form a narrative, a story about the time spent in the magic of nature: exploring memories, nostalgia and natural objects imbued with significance.

Finding parallels between the red list nature of the craft of Stained glass and the creatures, with a focus especially on birds that face the same challenges of changing habitats, scarcity of food sources and human impact and their red listed status.

Welcome back to Karoline Rerrie who will join us on Saturday 21st November.

Karoline is an illustrator and printmaker based in Birmingham. Her work is characterised by bold outlines, pattern and bright colours so it is ideal for screen printing. She uses the technique to create a range of artwork including greetings cards, decorations and limited edition prints.

Karoline is inspired by all the possibilities of screen printing but particularly enjoys working with layers of flat, bold colour to create her work. She draws her artwork by hand before making the separate layers for each different colour to be printed. Then using either photo stencils or simple hand cut stencils she carefully screen prints each layer of ink to create her colourful finished prints.

Karoline regularly exhibits her work in galleries and at print fairs throughout the UK. Alongside creating her own prints, she works on commissions and licensing projects. Ecoffee have used her ‘Morning Coffee’ design on one of their reusable take away coffee cups. Canns Down Press have published a series of Karoline’s prints as part of their ‘Wonderland’ range of greetings cards. In 2024 Canns Down Press also published her angel screen prints as colourful angel garlands and in packs of Charity Christmas cards.

We are pleased to welcome Tony Laverick who will join us for the whole weekend of Blue Magpie 20-22nd November.

Tony has been a professional ceramic artist for more than 30 years. He makes his vessels using porcelain. He then uses slips and glazes, which are applied to the surface and fired multiple times, each time adding more colour ad texture. He aims to create a feeling of movement and depth in his pieces. He is a fellow member of the Craft Potters Association.

We are pleased to introduce Emily Gershman .ofthenile who will be joining us on Sunday 22nd November.

Rose of the Nile jewellery is designed and made by Emily, a Canadian Metis artist living in the UK. Using traditional beading techniques, her jewellery is inspired by her indigenous heritage combined with the colours and shapes of the ancient world.

Each piece is handmade using delicate glass beads woven together with a needle and thread.

Emily has been making jewellery and attending local craft fairs since she was 12. Since moving to the UK in 2021 to complete a Masters in Museum Object Conservation, she decided to bring Rose of the Nile back to life as a way to stay connected to family and her culture while an ocean away.

When not creating, Emily can be found curled up with a cup of tea and a book, or going on adventures with her Cocker Spaniel, Maple.

Introducing Amy Denton who trades as Amos Denton Designs who will be joining us on Sunday 22nd November.

Amys inspirations stem from architecture and nature, becoming repetitive patterns which is applied to a range of surfaces. Amys work can have incredibly delicate fine details, but it is all meant to be playful and joyful. Amy enjoys working across different sizes, scales and shapes. Depending on the surface she will add colour, further playing with the patterns. The works on paper, wood and fabric are all hand drawn, with the ceramic pieces combining sgraffito and textured elements.

Welcome back Leather & Sage .sage.ludlow who join us on Sumday 22nd November.

Leather & Sage are a small team of two from the Herefordshire borderlands who craft premium leather adventure journals for all those who enjoy getting lost. Whether that be in the woods, up a mountain, down the labyrinthine streets of sun-bright Athens or, perhaps, just lost in thought... that part’s up to you.

The name, Leather & Sage, is quite simply all about what they sell and how you use it: Leather for strength and longevity, and Sage for wisdom. Their journals are made to survive all of life’s adventures and hold all of the knowledge, lore, and poetry you learn along the way.

Every journal is handcrafted by Caitlin individually and in small batches, no two products will ever be exactly the same and you may never see the same leather twice! They are also dedicated to reducing waste, crafting their accessories from rescued leather offcuts and their journals from sustainably-sourced, premium, veg-tanned leather.

Their artist’s journals are made with professional-grade sketch and watercolour paper as standard and they’re always happy to create a custom journal to meet personalised requirements. Inspired by the nature and folklore surrounding them, Leather & Sage craft journals to last a lifetime.
