We’re thrilled to share the completed transformation of now proudly settled into its beautifully restored home on Micklegate in York.

This historic building has been lovingly brought back to life, with its original charm and character carefully preserved. Working in partnership carried out the renovation works, restoring the fabric of the building and highlighting the period features that make this space so special.
completed the interior fit‑out, designing and handcrafting bespoke cabinetry that sits perfectly within the building’s wonderfully quirky layout.
From the handcrafted joinery to the hand‑painted finishes — cabinetry in Etruria and walls in Slaked Lime — every detail was chosen to honour the building’s story while creating a warm, welcoming home for this much‑loved independent bookshop.

It’s been an absolute joy working with our clients on such a unique and meaningful project. Lucius Books now begins its next chapter with a renewed sense of heritage, brand‑new signage, and a beautifully restored space that celebrates York’s history.

It was a very special Friday here at Wolds as we hosted local Interior Designers and Architects for an open morning at our East Yorkshire showroom yesterday.

Collaboration is so important to us and this was a valued opportunity for us to showcase our capabilities and introduce the talented Wolds team. All enjoyed over Yorkshire Tea and a A. Laverack & Son Butchers buffet, of course!

We loved designing this utility space — and what better way to make use of a hallway passage. Centred around that lovely window with a view down the drive and open fields beyond, it’s a space that feels both practical and peaceful.

Featuring an additional fridge and freezer, tall storage for the hoover and ironing board, plus the washer and dryer, all finished with a gorgeous Shaws sink. Painted in Farrow & Ball Drop Cloth with antique brass ironmongery… simply gorgeous 🏡💕
