Bathroom shutters can work brilliantly — but only if you pick the right material and layout.
Steam, splash and daily condensation punish the wrong spec. Fabric blinds go stiff. MDF swells. Timber without the right grade fails in humidity.
What actually works:
• Waterproof ABS or humidity-rated faux wood — not MDF
• Full-height above the bath; café-height at basin level
• Louvres angled for privacy with daylight (not a dark cave)
• Realistic 2026 costs — typically high-two-hundreds to mid-hundreds for a single window
• What we check on survey: splash zone, extractor, reveal depth
