My dad loves being in his garden, or outdoors anywhere really. He has a passion for growing his own veggies and watches the birds coming to feed from the seeds he puts out. I used a retired Stampin’ Up! set called ‘Birds & Branches’ to create this card. The square die is from a set called ‘Tile Garden Dies’ and I gently threaded some ‘Pecan Pie Jute’ from the ‘Neutrals Jute Combo Pack’ to give an added texture around the edges. It also reminds me of the garden twine my dad uses when tying up his veggies and flowers. Im pleased with the end result.

Cardmaking doesn’t have to be just card, inks and papers. Add some texture to your designs with fabrics or threads 🧵

If you like the ‘Neutral Noel Suite’ but Christmas crafting for you must involve red then swap one of the little houses from ‘Crumb Cake’ or ‘Pecan Pie’ to ‘Cherry Cobbler’. It gives a different look but keeping in theme with the warm browns and greens included in the papers.

It’s bounced rain and hailstones this afternoon so I moved some crafting bits to the lounge and put on girlie tv shows while making cards.

How do your creative ideas come together? Do you start with a clear vision of how you want the finished product to look like, or do you let the materials guide you and watch the design evolve as you craft?
How does the magic happen for you?
