August has disappeared… and I’m BACK 🍰

The kitchen makeover is… well… over halfway there 😂
I’m calling it about three-fifths done, which sounds much more impressive.

But for now, the paintbrushes are down and I’m back where I belong — BAKING.

I’ve got a busy few weeks ahead with celebration cake orders, but then…

After its little summer holiday, the Cake Shed will be stocked up again with all your favourites — and obviously I’m already thinking about what new things I can squeeze in there too.

Well… apparently it’s been 28 days since I last posted on here. 😳😂

I didn’t actually intend to disappear for nearly a month, but somehow August has just run away with me.

The Cake Shed has been having its summer break, it’s been approximately 900 degrees ☀️🥵 and I decided this would be the PERFECT time to tackle decorating the kitchen.

Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. 😂

What started as “I’ll just decorate the kitchen” has turned into a mammoth task that I’m beginning to think may actually outlive me.

I’ve also taken a little break from celebration cake orders while I attempt to get the house back to some sort of normality — but I realised I’ve got quite a few cakes from before August that I never actually showed you!

Starting with this pretty two-tier semi-naked cake for Orla 🌼💗

So while I’m currently more likely to be found holding a paintbrush than a piping bag, I thought I’d start sharing some of the cakes I made before my little summer break.

And of course, the Cake Shed will be back in September too. 🍰

So yes… I’m still here. Just currently covered in paint rather than buttercream. 😂

🎉 That’s a wrap for another Cake Shed! 🎉

Well… I’m calling that a sell-out. 😄

Yes, technically there are 10 bakes left, but after today’s amazing support, I think they’ve earned the right to become my reward for all the baking… or more likely tomorrow’s lunch. 😉🍰

A massive thank you to everyone who came along today. Whether you bought cake, shared a post, told a friend or simply cheered me on, I genuinely appreciate every bit of support.

Special mention to everyone who helped prove that last month’s leftovers were, in fact, entirely Mr Cake Shed’s fault. I think the evidence is pretty conclusive now. 🤣

That’s the Cake Shed closed until September while I take a little summer break.

Have a wonderful summer, thank you for supporting my little honesty shed, and I’ll see you all in a couple of months with more cakes, more new bakes and, no doubt, more questionable decisions from Mr Cake Shed. ❤️🍰

🚨 THE CAKE SHED IS OFFICIALLY OPEN! 🚨

The shelves are stocked, the Cake Shed is nice and cool, and the doors are open! 🍰

I’m pleased to report that I’m back in charge today… which means we’re aiming to prove that last month’s “not quite a sell-out” was 100% Mr Cake Shed’s fault. 😏😂

This month’s line-up includes some gorgeous new treats:

🚨 Your monthly cake allowance has arrived! 🚨

Yep… it’s been a whole month already, which means it’s time for the Cake Shed to fling its doors open once again.

📅 Saturday 18th July
⏰ From 9am
📍 Seagrave Close, Kingsmead, Northwich

Come early, because the best way to guarantee your favourite bake is to beat everyone else to it. Plus, the earlier you come, the less chance there is of the cakes trying to melt in the summer heat! ☀️🍰

This is your last Cake Shed before the school holidays, so after Saturday the shed is taking a well-earned summer break and won’t be back until September.

So if you’ve been thinking, “I’ll come next month…”… you won’t. 😆

Now, if you could all do me a favour and save me from the terrible hardship of having to eat all the leftover cake myself, I’d really appreciate it. 🍰😂

Unfortunately, I won’t be at Cuddington Manor Farm Farmers’ Market tomorrow due to illness.

I’m so sorry to everyone who was planning to come and see me, and especially to the organisers of Cuddington Manor Farm Farmers’ Market. I hate letting people down, and I’m really disappointed not to be there.
