New things ahead...

Goodness, hasn't it suddenly got to be jumper wearing weather!? My seaglass sweater has all the blues we've ever dyed on Shropshire Ply DK. There isn't much left of it now so we will be double checking the numbers on our mendacious website; the Backend Pixies either have severe dyscalcula, are rotten liars or enjoy making our lives more awkward and like watching us count the stock over and over again. At least we get to squish our glorious balls of wool 🤗

New workshop dates!

We’ve been asked for some Top-Down In The Round help, so Becca has wrestled with the calendars and come up with a set of dates for Shrewsbury and Oswestry.

This workshop is split into 3 sessions to cover knitting a whole garment from top to bottom.

Not ready yet to let go of summer? This has been our favourite summer knit for two years running thanks to the fabulous fun colour ways of the by schoppel-wolle It works perfectly with the gloriously ethical Okologisk Pimabomuld (organic pima cotton to you and me!) by CaMaRose. Two companies whose yarns delight us and who are always trying to improve their sustainability.

Happy Fair Isle Friday! Two vintage slipover knits in the sun! Knitted using Spindrift Shetland wool they are perfect for this time of year. Teri's slipover is already a kit on our website. Do you fancy the gentleman's pullover as a kit too? Another 1940s event this weekend...

Hot off the press!!

The latest edition of the Shetland Wool Week annual has landed in our shops!

Huzzah and hurrah! Full of beautiful photographs, inspiring articles and of course some down right delicious patterns (Teri and I are very taken with the Vetch jumper by Mandy Moore) by established designers and some new ones.

If you didn’t make it to Shetland this year, you still still enjoy the glory of the island through the pictures and writings, and if you did make it, then here’s a beautiful reminder of your visit, and we can all enjoy knitting something useful and lovely from the proffered designs.

Studio 67 have created a VIP section just for Ewe & Ply clientele, with a bespoke Gin Spin cocktail (you see what we did there?).

There is an entrance exam, to get in you must knit or hook 3 stitches. Just 3, but on our Very Special needles/hook.

We might need photos :) please use so we can see them!
