How long does a bathroom renovation actually take?

Most people expect the installation itself to take a week or two, but the entire process from your first showroom visit to taking your first shower involves a bit more planning.

Typically, from the initial brief to complete handover, you should allow around eight to twelve weeks. The design and product specification stage usually takes two to three weeks to get every detail right. Manufacturing and delivery lead times add another four to six weeks, especially for tailored or imported ranges. Finally, the physical installation and tiling take about two weeks.

We always recommend planning ahead rather than rushing. Pop into our Plymouth showroom any time, Monday to Saturday, to discuss your timeline and project goals.

Are you asking the right questions before hiring an installer for your new bathroom?

Finding a trustworthy trade professional in Plymouth or across Devon isn't always straightforward. Before signing any contract or paying a deposit, make sure you ask these seven crucial questions:

* Do you specialize in bathroom installations, or are you a general tradesperson?

* Will you manage the entire project, including plumbing, electricals, and tiling?

* Can I see recent local examples of your completed work?

* Are your electrical works completed by a certified installer to meet building regulations?

* What waterproofing system do you use behind the tiles?

* What is the explicit schedule and expected timeline for completion?

* Do you provide a written, itemized quotation rather than an estimate?

Answers that sound vague, hesitant, or overly informal should be a clear red flag.

If you prefer a seamless experience, we manage your design and supply from start to finish. Pop into our Plymouth showroom for a chat.
