We’ve spoken about this build before… but it’s time for an update.

This VW Campervan Is Making Up To 950BHP... And We're Only Just Running It In!

The RS T6 has been coming together at Colebrook CSC Transporters, led by Director Rob and built by the team in-house.

What started as a Volkswagen Transporter T6 camper has turned into something completely different. A full RS3-powered, four-wheel-drive performance build that still somehow keeps its campervan identity.

At the heart of it is a fully rebuilt Audi RS3 2.5 TFSI engine, built with JE forged pistons, Bartek H beam rods, ACL bearings, ported head, Schrick camshafts and ARP hardware throughout.

It’s running a Pulsar G35-1050 turbo at over 35 PSI, managed through a Syvecs ECU, with calibration from Four Stroke Performance in Belgium.

Fuel system is next level. It’s running 99 octane pump fuel combined with a multi-injector setup including port injection, Bosch Motorsport direct injection and direct port methanol injection running 100 percent methanol with no water mix.

Airflow and control comes through a modified setup featuring Forge elbow, Forge dump valve and Forge T6 TDI front mount intercooler.

And despite all of that, it is still very much a campervan.

Inside you still have a full off grid setup with Reimo pop top, seating, kitchen, solar and lithium system built for real travel and use.

Underneath, the drivetrain is a one off DQ500 based 4Motion setup combining RS3 and Transporter components, built to handle everything the engine can produce.

Right now it is already estimated at 850 to 950BHP while still being run in.

🎉 Massive Congratulations! 🎉

The team and management here at Colebrook Transporters would like to extend a huge congratulations to our technicians, Alex and Matt, on successfully passing their Bosch Diagnostic Technician training course and final examination.

🚛🔧 It feels like Engine Week here at Colebrook Transporters!

At the moment six of the 40 vehicles in the workshop have engines either dismantled or completely removed for repair:

🔹 VW T25 2.0 – in for a camshaft replacement.

🔹 Brazilian Bay 1.4 Water-Cooled – suffering from a blown head gasket.

🔹 VW T5 Camper 1.9 PD – another blown head gasket, but this one has proved more involved. The block face is out of tolerance, so the engine has been removed and fully stripped down to allow both the block and cylinder head to be skimmed.

🔹 Ford Transit Euro 5 – seized injectors turned what should have been a straightforward job into a major repair. The engine had to be removed, and ultimately the cylinder head was taken off so the injectors could be drilled out.

🔹 Ford 1.0 EcoBoost – snapped wet belt resulting in bent valves and extensive engine damage.

🔹A Audi TT 2.0 TFSI which can in with a miss fire which ended being a lack of compression on cylinder 1 is now having a performance engine built including , rebore and over sized forged pistons , forged H beam con rods , ARB bolts through out , Race engine bearing etc ready to make some serious BHP

It’s certainly been one of those weeks where every bay seems to have an engine in pieces! Thankfully, our team thrives on a challenge, and we’re looking forward to getting all of these vehicles back on the road where they belong. 💪🔧

Well what do we have here then… something a little different from the usual newer Transporter builds! 👀

That’s right — this absolutely stunning VW T25 came into us for a full Westfalia-style pop top installation. And what a van it is! This left-hand-drive original German Multivan travelled not from Germany… but over 5 hours north of Plymouth just to come to us for the roof install.

The owner told us he had travelled across Europe several times with his son searching for the perfect van — and once he found it, he travelled across England looking for the right company to supply and fit the roof. We were by no means local… in fact we’re miles away from his hometown! But after several phone calls and a visit to the workshop, he decided the journey would be well worth it.

The van was dropped off, the customer booked himself an Airbnb nearby, and we got to work.

One of the main goals for this build was to retain the original factory headliner while perfectly finishing the reinforcement frame — and we’re proud to say we achieved exactly that.

More upgrades for the RST6 today… and we finally found the limit of the TDI flywheel. It would appear 8000 RPM and over 750 BHP is enough for a TDI flywheel So, out it came — and in went a reinforced RS3 flywheel. 🙂

Originally, we couldn’t use the RS3 flywheel because the RS3 engine and TDI gearbox combination required a spacer between them. The TDI flywheel gave us the correct spacing, so that’s the route we took at the time.

Since then, we’ve been hunting for a suitable flywheel spacer… and, by complete accident while searching for a subframe bolt in our spare parts stock, we found exactly what we needed — an original VW flywheel spacer with the correct bolt pattern for the RS3 crank.

Of course, it wasn’t quite that simple. We had to machine the spacer so it would locate tightly on the crank nose, and then source custom flywheel bolts to make everything work correctly.

But now we’ve got something seriously special — a one-off flywheel setup for our one-off engine and gearbox configuration.

What We have is a RS3 engine in a T6 camper mounted with a a modified block and upper sump to allow the TDI T6 DSG gear box and 4 motion system to fit … The T6 TDI gear box contains a modified RS3 gear set and internals with in the T6 gear box case this is all controlled we have a RS3 8v1 dsg gear box control unit with bespoke map to suit the weight of the van and engine power . Engine is controlled by a bespoke 1 off custom Syvecs S7 ECU which syvecs put together for us to allow the MQB engine to run in the Van which is essentially PQ35 .. we have this complete set up in and working seamlessly with NO loom swop in site .!

We’ve completed something that plenty of people said couldn’t be done… and the best part is — it works.

Take a look at the state of that roof… 👀

We recently completed a full roof overhaul on this 2015 VW Crafter after years of leaks and poorly carried out repairs had left the roof in a serious condition.

Instead of fixing the original problems properly, previous repairs had simply covered over multiple issues, allowing water ingress and corrosion to continue getting worse over time.

Our fabrication team got straight to work by completely removing the roof, cutting out the damaged gutter sections and welding in brand new full-length gutter sections on both sides.

We then fabricated custom roof panels featuring bead-rolled reinforcement for added strength and rigidity before sealing, painting and insulating the entire new roof structure.

To finish the job, we refitted the awning, installed new roof vents and fitted a brand new internal ceiling — bringing the van back to life properly and ensuring it’s built to last 🔧

We recently completed this bespoke storage system for a Transit Custom 🔧

This project started as an idea from the customer. After a quick meeting to discuss exactly what he needed, a few measurements, and some planning, we designed a unit that was narrow enough to leave plenty of room in the back for transporting motorbikes, while still offering maximum storage space for ramps, roof bars, straps, tools and equipment.

The finished result is a fully bespoke storage solution constructed from 15mm Birch Hex board — practical, hard wearing and built specifically around the customer’s needs.
