So... on Monday I hinted that Mr EM-MAgination and I were off doing something exciting, and nothing to do with EM-MAgination Craft! 😂🧡
Well, this week is Carers Week, and we were lucky enough to join an event organised by the lovely team at Friends And Families ⛵
Many of you who come to sessions regularly will know that our eldest is currently on the CDC pathway, and navigating that journey means we've had support from some amazing organisations along the way. It's something I chat about quite openly with our regular EM-MAginators, but not something I've shared much about on social media.
When I saw the opportunity to spend an afternoon kayaking at Mount Batten Watersports & Activities Centre with other parents and carers, it ticked all my boxes 🛶🧡
You all know we are Scouts, and enjoy doing something a little adventurous, so Mr EM-MAgination took the afternoon off work and off we went! It felt very strange doing normal morning school and pre-school run, a bit of work, heading off kayaking in the afternoon, then returning to normal life in time for the end of day school run 😂
But it was brilliant... fresh air, lots of laughs, meeting other parents who just get it, and a chance for us to spend some time together doing something completely different, just us and not as "mum and dad" 🌊
A huge thank you to Friends and Families for organising such a lovely event and for everything they do to support local families.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a few hours out, try something new and have a little adventure 🧡
