🌿 Could you spare just one morning or afternoon every three weeks?

We're looking for a few friendly faces to join our wonderful team of volunteers at Teme Valley Artisans.

You don't need to be an artist or a maker.

You don't need any craft experience.

If you enjoy meeting people, are comfortable chatting with customers and would like to support a Community Interest Company that's making a real difference in Tenbury Wells, we'd love to hear from you.

Our artisan shop is run by volunteers and showcases the work of almost 30 talented local makers. During the summer many of our artisans are out at markets, shows and events, so we're looking for a few extra volunteers to help keep the shop open and welcoming.

💚 We only ask for one half-day shift every three weeks (or more if you'd like!).

By volunteering you'll be helping us to:

✨ Keep our beautiful town centre shop thriving
✨ Welcome visitors to Tenbury Wells

Teme Valley Artisans CIC is looking to welcome new makers who create beautiful handmade items for babies and young children.

We would love to hear from anyone producing things such as:

✨ Crochet animals and characters
✨ Handmade soft toys
✨ Felt animals and decorations
✨ Wooden toys and puzzles
✨ Nursery gifts
✨ Educational or sensory items
✨ Children's room decorations
✨ Unique handmade gifts for little ones

Our customers regularly ask for gifts suitable for babies and young children, and we would love to expand this area of the shop with high-quality handmade products from talented local makers.

Teme Valley Artisans is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, run by the members for the members. We provide a friendly and supportive environment where artisans can showcase and sell their work from our High Street shop in Tenbury Wells.

🚨Call to Arms

When the wonderful Carol Ludwig of the Keep Tenbury & Burford Clean and Green Community Group (KTBCGCG) called, we jumped! Carol has been working with local residents to rescue the old BT phone box on the corner of The Crescent and Wheeler Orchard in Tenbury.

This community-led initiative is to bring one of Tenbury Wells' iconic telephone boxes back to life after years of neglect by current owners, West Mercia Police.

Working alongside the fantastic volunteers from the KTBCGCG and other local supporters, we hope to see the former BT telephone box transformed from a neglected and unused structure into a valuable community asset at the heart of the town.

📚🧩Recent discussions about its proposed use include a vision to restore and refurbish the kiosk to create a welcoming community book-and-toy exchange, as well as a home for a potentially life-saving public-access defibrillator.

As a Community Interest Company, Teme Valley Artisans CIC was established to strengthen our community through creativity, collaboration and local action. This project perfectly reflects those values by bringing people together to preserve a familiar landmark while creating something that will benefit residents and visitors for many years to come.

🤝We are proud to support the bid to secure the telephone box and, if appropriate, are willing to assist with its future ownership and management to help ensure the project succeeds. Carol Ludwig will be leading the charge on this one, as she feels so passionately about the project.

We will be researching various funding options for this project, and asking local authorities for their help to get this project off the ground.

☎️Local residents who stopped to talk to us today, Paul Shepherd and Lisa Edwards, both have childhood memories of this phone box with their parents relying on the phone box to stay in touch with families and friends, long before every home had its own landline.
