Welcome to House On The Hill Design Company, Christchurch, New Zealand. Hi, I'm Jackie.

I have a passion for beautiful colours and design, especially French country, Scandinavian and all things aged and vintage. Over the last 20 years, I have taught decorative painting and developed a unique range of handcrafted wooden items and a selection of quilting patterns. The designs are simple and easy to make from rustic country to European inspired stitcheries and houses. I especially enjoy working with natural linens and old laces and mixing them with painted wood, trims, old photos and postcards etc. I also teach painting classes from my home with small friendly groups and offer a colour consultation service and interior design service (see my Colours by House On The Hill page for inspiration)

This one took a while to come together. I like the different heights and found a place for the steps I made ages ago 😄 the houses on the left were painted with a palette knife, adds a bit of texture and fun for blending colours.
It might go to Encraftment but not sure if I can part with it 😅😙

I’m building up real estate for the next Encraftment Market.
I never quite know how the houses will come out until I get some colours on or pretty papers. Then I see what works with them… lots of fun!

If you have some new shop names or ideas, let me know 😃💕💕
