Create your own little galaxy in glaze form 🤍✨

This layered glaze combination creates warm speckling, flowing variation, and a celestial, star-scattered finish.✨

Glazes used from Abbots:

🧡 Abbots Gold Dust — 2 x coats (base glaze)
🤍 Abbots White Oilspot — 2 x coats (top glaze)

We recommend leaving a 1–2 cm unglazed margin at the bottom of your piece to prevent running 🌿

Potters aren’t known for choosing just one glaze… and honestly, we get it. 🤭

But Abbots Glacier Crackle makes a very convincing argument — especially over a toasty clay body where those deep blue crackles really come alive. ✨❄️

If you had to commit to one glaze forever, what’s your pick?

We’re all about the before + after photos this week — this time, it's grid plates ✨

Grid testing is a systematic way to explore glaze combinations, often uncovering effects we’d never think to try otherwise.

This plate features 8 different Abbots glazes layered across an overlapping grid system, creating a unique combination in every square 🎨

Some squares are a real discovery, while others are less interesting. And that's okay! Not every square has to be a winner. If a grid reveals one or two combinations worth exploring further, that’s a great result.
