Our Singapore HDB Renovation Has Officially Begun! 🏠

After receiving HDB approval, our 4-room HDB has finally entered the demolition stage.

We removed the old cabinets, floor tiles, and bathroom wall and floor tiles. We also hacked away the original kitchen store room to create a brighter and more open space.

The walls have been roughened in preparation for tiling, helping to ensure better adhesion and long-term durability.

Materials are gradually arriving on site, and although the renovation is still in progress, the feeling of “home” is slowly taking shape.

Follow us as we document the entire journey — from demolition to moving into our new home. ✨🏡

This 4-room HDB renovation in Singapore is very special to me.

Because I am both the contractor and the homeowner.

This will be a home for a family of three, so the layout is very clear:
a master bedroom, a daughter’s room, and an additional functional room.

For this project, I put a strong focus on “future storage planning”.

Because for a family living long-term, things will naturally grow over time —
daily essentials, kitchen items, and eventually more belongings as the child grows.

That’s why we are building more cabinetry throughout the home,
and all cabinet works will use our own TUBAO (兔宝宝) boards.

Eco-friendly and durable — that’s the basic standard.

But the key is not to “fill up the space”,
it is to plan life in advance.

For example:
Where things should be stored for convenience,
whether daily movement feels smooth,
and whether the home will become messy over time.

These small details actually matter a lot in daily living.

🍲 As our family is from Sichuan and we love cooking,
the kitchen and dining area become the most important spaces in this home.

I will keep this part a secret for now,
and share the kitchen design in detail later.

For me,
coming home after a long day and sitting down together as a family to eat, talk, and share life,
that is what truly gives a home its warmth.

🏡 What I hope to create is not just a “nice-looking renovation”,
but a home that is truly comfortable to live in long-term —
a place that gets better the longer you stay.

🏠 Ang Mo Kio Dual-Unit HDB Renovation Has Officially Started!

The project is now in the demolition and electrical/plumbing stage 🔨⚡

As this home combines two HDB units into one, the renovation process is more complex than a typical renovation. All wall modification works require HDB approval before demolition can begin.

👨‍👩‍👦 Designed for a family of three, the layout includes a master bedroom, son’s room, multi-purpose room, and a home gym, ensuring everyone has their own space.

The electrical and plumbing stage is a key part of the renovation, with lighting, power points, network cabling, and air-conditioning routes carefully planned in advance.

✨ Every step brings this future home closer to reality.

HDB Dual-Unit Renovation in Singapore — Double the Space, Better Living 🏡✨

📍This resale HDB project in Ang Mo Kio was created by combining two units into one spacious home.

👨‍👩‍👦 Although the homeowners are a family of three, their requirement was very clear —
everyone should have their own personal space.

💼 As both homeowners have busy work schedules,
they wanted separate areas to rest and work after coming home.
That’s why we planned individual rooms for both husband and wife.

🚪 At the same time,
the layout still includes a son’s bedroom, a multi-purpose room,
and even a dedicated fitness area.

📐 Many people assume that adding more functions makes a home feel cluttered.
But in reality, good space planning is what makes everything work seamlessly.

✨ From the beginning,
the design focused on:
flow, storage planning, natural lighting,
and overall spatial balance.

🔄 Special attention was also given to how the two units connect together,
as well as the separation between public and private spaces.

🌿 The homeowners also valued comfort and daily living experience,
so the layout was carefully planned around their lifestyle and habits,
creating a home that feels both functional and comfortable.

🏡 In the end,
the result is not just “more rooms” —
but a home where every family member
can enjoy their own rhythm and personal space.

🏡 Toa Payoh BTO Before & After — The Transformation is Huge

This Toa Payoh BTO truly feels like a completely different home after renovation ✨

Previously, the entrance only had basic storage.
Now, it features a seamless DB box + shoe cabinet design,
with concealed handles for a cleaner look.

The space used to feel quite rigid,
so we softened the entire home with curved details and warm lighting,
creating a more layered and cozy atmosphere.

The dining cabinet was also upgraded
from simple storage into a mix of display and functionality,
including dedicated storage for wine glasses 🍷

The biggest transformation is in the master bedroom —
we converted one of the bathrooms into a walk-in wardrobe,
greatly improving the overall space efficiency.

Sometimes, great renovation isn’t about complicated designs.
It’s about creating a home that feels more comfortable and practical every day ✨

🏡This BTO project in Toa Payoh is finally completed ✨
And honestly, the beauty of this home is all in the details.

Right at the entrance, we combined the DB box and shoe cabinet into one seamless design,
with pull-out storage below for better organization.

This cabinet design is also worth noticing —
the handles are concealed, almost like a fridge door,
making it cleaner and more space-efficient.

The full carpentry line features curved edges + warm lighting,
safer for kids and visually softer.

In the living area, we used a sintered stone + wood slat feature wall,
paired with a stone TV console for a timeless look.

The dining cabinet comes with glass display storage and wine glass sections,
while the quartz countertop makes it more practical for daily use.

The curved design theme continues into the bedrooms,
and the kids’ room includes integrated storage + study table solutions.

The highlight is the master bedroom —
a full-height wardrobe upon entry,
followed by a dedicated walk-in wardrobe.

We even converted one of the original bathrooms
into a more functional storage space.

For the kitchen, glass doors were added
to create a clearer flow and maximize storage.

Nothing overly complicated in this home —
but every detail was designed around the homeowners’ daily living. ✨

Simple on the surface, thoughtful in every detail

Many people think renovation is just about how it looks.
But what really shapes your daily life
are the details you don’t immediately see.

From space planning and storage layout
to materials and finishing touches —
when done right, everything feels natural and comfortable.

This project isn’t overly complicated,
but every element is carefully considered.

Clean, timeless, and practical —
that’s what truly makes a space work.

If you’re planning your renovation,
it doesn’t have to be extravagant,
but it should be done right.
