This 4-room HDB renovation in Singapore is very special to me.
Because I am both the contractor and the homeowner.
This will be a home for a family of three, so the layout is very clear:
a master bedroom, a daughter’s room, and an additional functional room.
For this project, I put a strong focus on “future storage planning”.
Because for a family living long-term, things will naturally grow over time —
daily essentials, kitchen items, and eventually more belongings as the child grows.
That’s why we are building more cabinetry throughout the home,
and all cabinet works will use our own TUBAO (兔宝宝) boards.
Eco-friendly and durable — that’s the basic standard.
But the key is not to “fill up the space”,
it is to plan life in advance.
For example:
Where things should be stored for convenience,
whether daily movement feels smooth,
and whether the home will become messy over time.
These small details actually matter a lot in daily living.
🍲 As our family is from Sichuan and we love cooking,
the kitchen and dining area become the most important spaces in this home.
I will keep this part a secret for now,
and share the kitchen design in detail later.
For me,
coming home after a long day and sitting down together as a family to eat, talk, and share life,
that is what truly gives a home its warmth.
🏡 What I hope to create is not just a “nice-looking renovation”,
but a home that is truly comfortable to live in long-term —
a place that gets better the longer you stay.
