🌿✨ A developing pitcher of Nepenthes thorelii × aristolochioides — still tightly closed, but already showing plenty of character before it even opens! 🌱🏺

At this stage, the pitcher is still swelling and developing its final shape, with the lid sealed shut and the peristome yet to fully expand. Even unopened, you can already see hints of the unusual pitcher structure inherited from N. aristolochioides, combined with the influence of N. thorelii. 👀✨

One of the most exciting parts of growing Nepenthes is watching a pitcher develop day by day — from a small tendril tip into a fully inflated trap before finally opening and revealing its mature colouration and form. 🌿🔥

This specimen develops attractive pitchers with deep reddish-brown to near-black colouration, giving it a much darker appearance compared with many typical N. hirsuta forms. The contrasting green foliage and richly coloured pitchers make the plant especially eye-catching as it matures. 🖤✨

As its name suggests, N. hirsuta is well known for the fine hairs covering parts of the plant, particularly the stems and foliage. Combined with the darker pitcher colouration of this form, it makes for a very distinctive species with plenty of character. 🌿🔥

🌿✨ Meet Nepenthes clipeata — seed grown by SCP! 🌱🏺

This incredibly special species is one of the most distinctive Nepenthes in cultivation, famous for its characteristic peltate leaves, where the tendril attaches underneath the leaf rather than directly at the tip. Its compact growth habit and beautifully shaped pitchers make it instantly recognisable among serious Nepenthes collectors. 💚✨

Our seed-grown N. clipeata are especially exciting because every seedling is genetically unique, meaning each plant has the potential to develop its own subtle differences in pitcher shape, colouration and overall form as it matures. 🌱🔥

N. clipeata originates from Mount Kelam in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, and remains an exceptionally rare and highly sought-after species. Growing plants from seed also helps maintain genetically diverse cultivated populations of this remarkable Nepenthes. 🏺🌿

The selection ranges from easy-to-grow plants suitable for beginners to rare and highly sought-after collector specimens.
