Meet “Shone” — the edible “elephant ear”stem 🌿

It looks like green taro stem, but it’s not taro! (And be careful — the toxic kind of elephant ear plant called Hora should never be eaten.)

In southern Thailand, Shone is often cooked in Gaeng Som sour curry, but today in our private class we made a quick stir-fry with fermented bean paste. Soft, spongy, and so refreshing!
