Bypass doors are the worst deal in your house. You can only ever see half your closet at a time.

You slide one panel over to reach the left side, then slide it back to reach the right side, and you do that every single morning for as long as you live there.

So get rid of them! This closet got a pocket door system, so the doors slide completely out of the way and the entire opening is open at once. Behind them, every inch is doing something. Hanging, drawers, shelving, all sized around what actually goes in there instead of whatever fit between two sliding panels.

Nobody falls in love with a kitchen because of the cabinet boxes. They fall in love with the details.

The lighting that makes the room feel warm at 6am and at 10pm. The paper towel nook built into the island so it is never sitting on your counter. Brass on the perimeter, bronze details on the island, and a real latch on the doors that deserve one. Antiqued mirror behind brass so the tall cabinets read like furniture. Every cabinet looks good on install day. That is the easy part.

The real test is year three. That is when the cheap stuff starts telling on itself. Drawers begin rubbing against the housing. Edges chip where hands actually land. Panels take on moisture and quietly warp until nothing lines up the way it did in the photos.

Big room, small room, closet sized room. Does not matter. Every inch is getting treated right.

This guest bath is not large. So the vanity floats, which keeps the floor visible and makes the whole room breathe, while the storage still does exactly what it needs to do underneath.

Small room. No problem.

A 100% custom island with 24 drawers.

Glass inserts on top. Interiors wrapped in a Cleaf linen texture so nothing looks like an unfinished box. A solid top with a quarter inch reveal so it reads as one piece of walnut rather than a lid sitting on a cabinet.

Somebody is going to open this every morning and feel very good about their life choices. Because why wouldn’t you with a display island like this?

We get excited about little things like a light switch, but honestly, this deserves the excitement.

Integrated lighting has always come with a tradeoff. The glow looks effortless, but somewhere behind it there is a driver stuffed into a cabinet, eating storage and waiting to be the thing that breaks.

Not with this one. The switch is the driver. It drops into a standard single gang box, dims any LED tape, and handles up to 160 watts. Add tape you can cut anywhere without losing the light, and the whole system finally matches how clean the finished job looks.

This is the kind of detail that never shows up in the photos and completely changes the build.
