A highboy of distinction… ✨

This cream-lacquered, Chinoiserie-style lingerie chest is as useful as it is charming. Birds and flowers adorn the doors, while delicate landscapes stretch across the drawers. Look closely and you’ll spot the butterfly-shaped brass pulls—a detail the Dowager finds particularly pleasing.

“A most elegant way to keep one’s secrets. Naturally, I should require more than five drawers.”

$568 | Dealer 363

💌 A postcard from the past…

Before messages could be sent in an instant, a few handwritten lines carried news, affection, and sometimes the most delicious little snippets of gossip across the miles.

Dealer 279 has gathered a fascinating collection of postcards here at Avonlea. From familiar places and grand buildings to charming illustrations, each one offers a glimpse into another time. Take a moment to look through them—you never know what might catch your eye.

As the Dowager of Avonlea observes:

“A little correspondence never goes out of style. Though I do prefer mine to arrive without a request for money.” 😉
