Before leaving Illinois and moving to Arizona, Civitas Circle's customers had decided to change the look of their entire patio set - a love seat, armchairs and dining chairs - to SouthWestern theme. Having already toss pillows in bold SouthWestern designs, customers coordinated the pillows with outdoor Sunbrella fabrics in warm colors suitable for their iron furniture and a new house. Although, pressured with a short time frame, we had picked the cushions from the house, fabricated them and delivered to the customers on-time. Civitas Circle's customer proudly shows off his 1970 Chevelle at summer events. He invests into improvement and look of the car. Hence, he had purchased ready made vinyl skins and paid for installing them on his seats. To his dismay, the seats were uncomfortable and the covers not fitting well. When we opened the covers, we had discovered various mistakes and flaws with previous installations as well as with the skins themselves. We replaced old seat fillers, add firm foam panels, added strips of vinyl to enlarge the ill fiting covers and properly attached them to the frames. Once the customer received newly reupholstered and now truely bucket seats, he was happy to drive off comfortably in his beloved Chevelle. Driving from Michigan a Donzi boat inherited from his grandfather, Civitas Circle's customer lost a backrest cushion. Originally attached with snaps, the cushion flew away. We made patterns of a new backrest, removed the snaps from the boat and installed 2" military grade Velcro. We cut marine DF foam, fabricated off-white marine vinyl cushion cover with red welting, Velcro strap and marine mesh. We attached a few straps with snaps to enhace fastening of the cushion to the boat. Young customer and his friends were happy to get the Donzi on the water righ-a-way. Boat covers purchased on-line may or may not fit the boat; may or may not last; may or may not be friendly to use; and some are unnecessarily compliated. CIvitas Circle's customer purchased a Four Winns boat with a cover on a webbing strap and ratchets. While he liked the closure, he needed to extend the cover, eliminate unnecessary panels, and fit the cover tightly on the boat. We used Sunbrella, often called "canvas," although, woven only from acrylic yarn. We simplified the design, attached double layer panels on the window, made Velcro enclosed pockets around the BImini frame, fabricated an enforced tunel for the webbing, attached protective pockets for ratchets and fitted the cover over the platform as our customer requested. Having a custom built large bench in their garden, Civitas Circle's customers wanted to compliment the bench with a unique seating. We had combined two outdoor fabrics, one in bold red/navy/white stripes, the other in solid navy to fabricate a 85"x33"x3" bench, a full 85" length bolster and two side bolsters. We used marine DF firm foam for custom made bolsters and a cushion. We made patterns, cut and serged fabric panels, fabricated zipper gussets and join the panels to a final design. In 1908, following the Monongah mining disaster in West Virginia, Grace Golden Clayton proposed a church service to honor fathers, particularly the victims of the tragedy. In 1909, Sonora Smart Dodd, a daughter raised by a single father veteran proposed a holiday for fathers. In 1910, Washington State celebrated the first official statewide Father's Day on June 19 and in 1972, President Rochard Nixon signed it into law. On this holiday, we celebrate our dad, grandfathers and father figures who shaped us with their love, strength, wisdom, etc. Civital Circle's crew wishes our customers, vendors, families and friend a fabulous Father's Day filled with love, appreciation and fun.

Some cushions/seats on boats can be abused and damaged more than other cushions. Civitas Circle's customer needed two seats completely rebuilt for his boat. After removing old seat vinyl covers, we recreated patterns of already disintegrating wooden boards and foam panels. We used 3/4" thick HDPE sheets to fabricate new boards; drilled drainage holes in them and fuse them to DF marine firm foam panels. We eliminated dark green panels, made custom welting and sew new vinyl covers. After wrapping marine foam in silk film, we fitted new covers, stapled them to HDPE boards and finished the edges with gimp. Memorial Day, originally, Decoration Day, is a federal holiday honoring and mourning the military personnel who had died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. On May 30, 1868, mourners honored the Civil War dead by decorating their graves with flowers, hence "Decoration Day." In 1971, Congress declared Memorial Day a federal holiday to be celebrated the last Monday in May at Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremony in which a small American flag is placed on each grave. As we honor and salut to fallen soldiers, we wish our customers, vendors, friends and families a meaningful, peaceful and respectful Memorial Day. None of us should never forget....

Civitas Circle's customers purchased an older Master Craft in great shape but in need of some upgrades. Most important was the need for a new wall to wall carpeting and on the engine cover. After we removed the old carpet and debris underneath, we sanded the floor up to the boat's nose, washed it and prepared it for the adhesive. We used vinyl woven Infinity carpet with rubber backing in soft gray/black/white color hue. and placed it on the entire floor. Ready for replace carpet on the bottom of the engine cover, we discovered disintegrated foam which we replaced with thermozin, double sided with aluminum foil. Finaly, we replaced a wooden board with HDPE and foam with new DF marine foam on the Aft bench and opened and retightened vinyl cover on a bolster.
