💐 Can we have an honest conversation about wedding flower budgets?

When a florist asks, “Do you have a floral budget in mind?” many brides say, “I’m not sure.” That’s understandable. If you haven’t planned a wedding before, it can be hard to know what flowers, design, delivery, and setup may cost.

Part of our job as florists is to explain the options and help couples see what different budgets can include so they can choose what matters most to them.

For perspective, U.S. reports put average flower spending around $2,000 in 2020 and roughly $2,700–$2,800 in recent Knot/WeddingWire snapshots. Zola’s 2026 index lists $6,345 for flowers and floral design. These figures come from different studies and categories, so they aren’t a direct year-to-year comparison or a quote for a Chicago wedding.

Brides: What would help you feel more prepared to talk about floral costs?

Florists and designers: How do you make the budget conversation helpful and comfortable? Do you share starting prices, sample designs, or options at different investment levels?

My entrepreneurial journey didn’t start with flowers. I started as Aida Crochetada, creating handmade crochet pieces and jewelry with my own two hands.

As the years passed, I stopped crocheting, but I never stopped creating. My creativity evolved into floral design, and today I continue using that gift through Lula’s Floral & Gifts.

But lately, I’ve been reminded that God gives us more than one gift—and sometimes we have to go back and pick up the gifts we put down.

So Aida Crochetada is creating again! 🧶❤️
I’ll continue creating my floral designs, but I’m also bringing my handmade crochet pieces back. Hats, scarves, bags and other special creations will be available for Christmas gifts, birthdays, and just-because gifts.

I’m learning to use ALL of my gifts, not just one, to continue building, growing, and creating the blessings and legacy I want for myself and my family.

It started with Aida Crochetada.
It grew into Lula’s Floral & Gifts.
And now, both parts of my creativity are coming together.
