HIGHTIDE is a brand established in Fukuoka, Japan in 1994, specializing in office supplies and stationery. HIGHTIDE STORE DTLA opened in July 2017.

While our products evoke American and European nostalgia, the design and functionality have been developed with utmost care. In addition to the popular HIGHTIDE Diary planners, there are a variety of product lines within HIGHTIDE including Penco, Nähe, New Retro, Attaché, Grains de Sable, Duram, Butler, Re-Standard… each with its own particular style. We also offer daily essentials from various Japanese makers, their use ranging from office, to school, to home; from leather glasses cases to playful stickers. The store is inspired by a local stationery store that always existed near a school, a place familiar to anyone who grew up in Japan. In these small stores, shelves were crammed with notebooks, pencils, erasers, pen cases, cheap sweets and toys. For students with little pocket money, these stores stood as a place to hang out, alone or with friends. At HIGHTIDE STORE DTLA we hold exhibitions, workshops, and highlight Japanese makers and artists, hoping to create an environment similar to such “Bunboh-gu-ya.” Anyone with a little pocket money can come find something to cheer up or fill the bill. Friends may become family in the outspread city of Los Angeles.

PAPERSKY STORE POP-UP AT HIGHTIDE STORE DTLA

Hightide Store DTLA is delighted to present a PAPERSKY STORE pop-up, starting from Wednesday, November 4th to Sunday, November 22nd.

The pop-up will feature the second issue of the English edition of “PAPERSKY” magazine, along with a selection of travel essentials from “PAPERSKY TOOLS” and the “PAPERSKY WEAR” collection.
The second issue of the English edition of “PAPERSKY,” titled “TOKYO | Tokyo Tree Trek,” focuses on the trees rooted in Tokyo’s ever-evolving urban landscape. Through “Tokyo Tree Trek,” a journey exploring trees found in parks, shrines, and hidden backstreets, the magazine gives a fresh perspective on the city and its unique charm.

The pop-up will also highlight a selection of “PAPERSKY TOOLS” products inspired by the travel experiences and encounters of editor-in-chief Lucas B.B., including the lightweight UL sacoche bags, original T-shirts, hats, and other accessories.

Additionally, “PAPERSKY WEAR,” a collection of lightweight, minimalist travel and everyday clothing designed from a traveler’s perspective, will be available. Combining quality materials with functionality, the collection offers comfortable, versatile pieces suited for both travel and everyday life.

This pop-up will be a great opportunity to explore the world of “PAPERSKY” through both its magazine and products. If you live in Los Angeles or plan to visit during the event, we hope you’ll stop by.

Penco® has launched the Penco® & Ken Kagami Capsule Collection in collaboration with contemporary artist Ken Kagami. This collection features Penco®’s classic items reimagined with drawings and graphics by Ken Kagami.
The lineup includes Penco®’s signature products—such as plastic clips, pouches, mugs, and clipboards—adorned with humorous drawings inspired by underwear and digital devices, as well as the “Kagami Font.”
