Some days call for an improvised Cheeto pocket*.
Oh, you guys. I never learn. Omfg. I have taken on a new challenge. Except I've lived it before and should know better! Anybody remember my parents' itty bitty house that was packed to the gills? Yeah. I've gotten myself into a situation dealing with FOUR. THOUSAND. square feet of STUFF. 🤦
The older neighbors across the street lost their lease and had 4 days to move. So. Much. Stuff. We didn't know, and they didn't say (they've been extremely private since we got here, even though it turns out they're pretty cool and we would have liked to know them) until Friday morning, when we found out they have wheelchairs that are going to end up in a dumpster. Lots of wheelchairs. LOTS. HUNDREDS of skis and equipment from their business selling secondhand. And arts & craft supplies. Tools. Other exercise equipment. Small appliances. Clothing. TENS OF THOUSANDS worth. All heading to a contractor's roll off. We were able to pause our lives on Friday and haul what we could across the street, but we ran out of time - and space. Since Friday, I've been sorting crafting and clothing, we are shocked that there aren't pests but there is dust, years' worth. Our already full garage is now impassable with power chairs waiting for a new home. Chuck is out of town, so if the contractors start hauling stuff out I just have to start running back and forth to try to save what I can.
Send help? 😆 I'll just be over here boxing up stamps and painting supplies while I gorge myself on cheetos and Cadbury creme eggs.
*NB, I absolutely, positively did NOT touch cheetos after touching these skis. Or any of the other stuff. We're taking bets on where we might find a dead body, especially after it was suggested that I check out what's under the tarp inside the not-mobile-anytime-recent minivan. 🤣🤣🤣
