I am especially excited about this handmade book studio! You will create a unique small journal/scrapbook using handmade paper along with a variety of other papers suitable for writing. This book is bound with a series of three dowels and paper slots rather than stitching. It also features a signature of varied papdeers and a unique accordion-fold section that extends from the body of the book. In the first session, the cover and spine will be created as well as the accordion-folded section. At the end of the first session, pieces will be pressed in a book press and dried for assembly in the second session. Select the time for finishing at the first session that works best for you.

It is cool have Bill Anderson as a friend and neighbor. It is also cool that he is an accomplished woodworker. Last year I gave him the trunk of a cherry tree that had fallen in my yard. Look what he made for me from that tree trunk! I have a custom-made bottle stopper from my own cherry tree. Thank you Bill!

Tomorrow is the last day for our spring studio garden sale. We will be open at 10 and will close art 4:00 pm. You have one more day to join the fun.
From the Summer’s Garden celebrates handmade art by 12 area artists displayed inside our studio and outside in the garden in two pop-up retail events held each year.
• Spring Sale runs for six weekends from the middle of April through the end of May
• Holiday Sale, The 12 Days of Christmas, runs for three weekends in November.
During these sales, we are open Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 to 5:00.

When the retail sales events are over, Steve’s artwork and a limited number of other items are available for sale outside in the garden.
You are welcome to visit and shop. Please text him before you visit at 913-579-5395 to set up an appointment. If you’ve visited and found us closed, help yourself to contact information in the mailbox to the left of the double doors!

At the From the Summer’s Garden AIN’T WE GOT FUN sale, you not only get to discover the original handmade artwork our artists have created for the sale, but you are also invited to experience Steve’s beautiful garden. This is a unique, wonderfully creative, and beautiful garden space that he has spent years building. His artistic talent is not only evident in the pieces he creates, but also in the garden he has created for himself and for his customers to enjoy. See something you don’t know what it is? Ask him, he enjoys sharing and educating others about the plants he loves. As you stroll through his garden, take time to smell the roses, have fun, and find a little peace…you may also find some whimsical art to add to your own garden and start creating some fun in your own backyard.
Today and tomorrow are our last two days for our spring sale.
We will be open Sunday from 10-4:00 pm, and then our spring sale will be over. No worries, though, our next collaborative artist sale will open in November. Steve’s items continue to be available throughout the year by appointment only. Check our website for updates and for the summer workshops that are now open for enrollment.
