The Stitchery is a needle arts education studio in Portsmouth Rhode Island focusing on keeping alive traditional crafts . Our initial classes will focus on hand and machine sewing as well as beginning knitting. In the future we hope to include many additional crafts, guest instructors and weekend workshops.

We had so much fun last year seeing what the kids made and we are so excited to welcome the kids back to Commonfencepoint ! It was so wonderful to see their creations and how proud they were!

Space is limited for vendors, free to participate. Everyone welcome to attend and support the kids!

Back by popular demand—a class to sew Rope Bowls! Saturday October 17, 1:30-4:30. Everything is provided. Bring your machine if you like or use one of mine, I’ll have denim needles for you. I’ll show you several ways to personalize the bowl. We start with a small coaster to get the hang of things then make a bowl with your own unique design. Warning: this is an addictive craft! Register under “Adults” on the Stitchery website. $75

Next up in the Monday evening Foundations in Sewing classes—Quilting! These are just some of the fun things we’re going to play with. This 4-week series starts October 19. Registration is open on the website under “Adult.”

Know that I am *not* the quilt police. I do not believe in perfection. I do believe in doing your best, learning through mistakes and most of all, ENJOYING the process of learning something new. I’m really looking forward to it!
