These 19th-century Koroniotiko olive jars come from the beautiful coastal town of Koroni in Greece, where generations of artisans handcrafted terracotta vessels for storing olive oil.

The olive tree has always held a special place in Greek culture. According to ancient mythology, it was a gift from the goddess Athena, symbolizing peace, wisdom, and prosperity.

We particularly love their sculptural shapes, beautiful ribbed surfaces, and natural patina developed over generations. Each jar is slightly different, reflecting the hand of the artisan who made it.

The winged Lion of St. Mark is one of the most enduring emblems of Venice.

Associated with Saint Mark the Evangelist, patron saint of Venice, the lion became a civic symbol of the Venetian Republic and appeared prominently on façades, columns, flags, and public monuments throughout territories under Venetian influence.

Our monumental example, measuring nearly six feet in height, carries that same commanding presence. Over time, it has also become closely associated with Authentic Provence — a familiar landmark at our West Palm Beach gallery.
