Heaven has officially become a little more colourful at Westcoast Creative Studio!

Our six talented arties were given the same angel design on blank woodcuts,but what emerged was a wonderful collection of completely different artistic personalities!

From bold African-inspired patterns and intricate mandalas to elegant antique finishes, rainbow explosions and whimsical colour combinations, these angels certainly didn’t come from the same heavenly

Across the group, we explored colour, pattern, texture paste, precision and decorative painting techniques, with each student bringing their own in

Nutcracker No. 2 has joined the ranks!

My latest handcrafted GIANT Nutcracker is bursting with bold colours, intricate patterns, glitter and plenty of personality!

Standing proudly alongside his smaller companion, he’s the second in my trio of handmade Nutcrackers!

One more to go before the regiment is complete!

Who says Christmas has to be traditional? Not in my studio!

Thank you All4Woodcrafts for cutting this wonderful trio for us .
We had great fun on stretching the imagination to make ours traditional .

LIFE’S A BEACH… AND SO IS OUR ART!

Five little beach huts, five big personalities and a whole lot of creative chaos!

Our talented artists at Westcoast Creative Studio have been busy transforming humble miniature beach huts into colourful little seaside masterpieces!

What makes these creations special isn’t just the adorable surfboards, palm trees, boats and nautical accessories. It’s the painting techniques, colour combinations, textures and individual artistic flair that each student brought to the project.

What happens when six creative arties are handed ordinary glass bottles, air dry clay ,a collection of art materials and permission to go completely bonkers?

A magnificent line-up of beautifully bizarre characters!

Welcome to the latest creations from Westcoast Creative Studio, where empty bottles have suddenly developed eyes, noses, lips, attitudes and, in some cases, rather questionable expressions!

What impressed me most was how six people working with the same basic concept produced six completely different characters.

There were no identical faces, no shortage of imagination and certainly no beauty standards being followed here!

Well done to all six students! Every bottle tells a story, and every artist has left a little piece of their personality.

THE NUTCRACKER NUTTERS HAVE ARRIVED!

Meet Sir Cerise Sparkle and General Rediculous — two rather distinguished gentlemen with impressive moustaches, questionable expressions and absolutely no sense of humour!

One is dressed in fabulous cerise, the other in commanding red, and both seem convinced they’re in charge of Christmas!

But the army is still recruiting! Each gentleman will eventually have two matching comrades, making two magnificent sets of three.

Hand-painted, glittered, blinged and bursting with attitude!

Our artists at Westcoast Creative Studio have been busy transforming identical miniature cottages into their own quirky little masterpieces!

Prismatic Portrait is a colourful celebration of individuality, where bold geometric fragments, playful patterns and colours come together to create one wonderfully unconventional character.

A touch of chaos, a dash of elegance, and absolutely no intention of blending into the background!

This quirky creation proves that sometimes the most beautiful faces are the ones that refuse to be ordinary.

Because art, like life, is far more interesting when we colour outside the lines!

Today,students were given the same limited palette — blue, yellow, black and white — and then set loose to see where their imaginations would take them.

There are wonky lines, exaggerated proportions, unexpected perspectives and plenty of character — exactly the things that make naïve-style art so charming. We weren’t chasing photographic perfection; we were learning composition, contrast, perspective, negative space and how a tiny pop of colour can command an entire canvas.

Westcoast Creative Studio — where perfect is optional, but imagination is compulsory.
