This semi matte glaze can behave so well.

Semi matte glazes are fickle and work in quite a limited temperature range. This becomes tricky when the temperature variation within a kiln itself differs from top to bottom shelf. Hitting the sweet spot is an art, but when it works, it really does.

This was a one off commission in my favourite beige clay for a special gift. Receiving wonderful and very kind feedback from the recipients makes this even more rewarding.

Sometimes objects are made but stay stuck on the studio shelves until a lull between projects and production allows for closer study. This is one such object that was made a while ago. A larger sibling to my butter dish, a vessel for the Danish block of cheese central to many a breakfast table here. I am wondering whether to make more of these…?

Altered, textured stoneware vase.

It has been a long time coming, the online shop is finally restocked and open. The first half of the year was busy with commissions, each time I thought I was ready to open it up again, something else popped up. The aim now is to keep it open with a rolling stock… 🤞

After what feels like an eternity I am posting again. A short break from here turned in to something much longer. It seems the longer one stays away, the more one procrastinates the return…

Stoneware cup, made-to-measure

From time to time someone close makes a request for a very one off item. One hard working son fed up with to-ing and fro-ing to the kitchen to get a liquid fix requested this 1l cup. These are the various stages of its life through to its first baptism.

What is it about ceramic pouring bowls?

Their distinctiveness triggers my attention, the gentle outlier captures my heart. And so versatile - from the morning matcha ritual to an evening marinade or a simple decorative item.

Playing with plates

Last year a commission for a set of dining plates had me playing around with different designs. This is one design, a thin, flat as a pancake plate.
