Reykjavík to Copenhagen and from Copenhagen to Højer

My schedule has been loaded with retreat, pattern updates, workshops and market. I have been running around for months and can’t remember when I took a day off.

But Masker i Marsken was extra lovely this year, I traveled alone, stayed at Schackenborg Slot and spent the evenings reading. Little rebooth in between the busy market days.

After many weekends at markets,it was nice to spend quality time with my family, gather inspiration at my favorite kidswear store and eat good food 🤩

Measurements are taken after washing. The sweater is intentionally oversized and taken when untied, it can be worn as a dress. Sleeves are extra long. The design is bulky and relaxed.

Skills Needed

Knitting in the round, Ribbing, Increases (M1R, M1L), i-Cord, Knit buttonholes (YO, K2tog) Stitched finishing (neckline, cuffs)

Materials

Yarn: Organic Merino DK from Thelma Steimann (100% organic merino wool), approx. 225 m/100 g skein. Soft, high-quality base.

Yarn quantity: 7 (7) 8 (8) 9 (9) skeins

Needles and notions

Circular 4 mm, 40 cm & 80 cm (body & sleeves)
Circular 3.5 mm, 40 cm (neckline)
2 × DPN 4 mm (straps)
Tapestry needle (for weaving ends, stitching neckline & cuffs)
Stitch markers
2 × stitch holder cords or scrap yarn

Gauge

Stockinette stitch, 4 mm needles: 21 sts × 29 rows = 10 × 10 cm. Adjust needle size to achieve the correct gauge.

Construction Notes

The sweater is worked top-down in raglan style. Begin at the neckline, work the yoke, separate sleeves and body, then finish hem and cuffs. Neckline and cuffs are folded and stitched for a double layer. Strap holes are knitted into the fabric; straps are worked separately and sewn in place.

Deadline is 2 months from now, with publish estimate in December.

Sunday ☀️

First Sunday in 3 weeks where I’m not standing somewhere at a market 🙃 I’ve missed those slow mornings and haven’t barely noticed that fall just knocked on the doors. Even though the morning started with little work, knitting and preparing project is not counted as work on my schedule.

I’m looking forward to spend the next week in front of the computer and catching up on some pattern writing (I never thought I would say that, but yes I’m missing my computer).

It’s been so crazy the past few weeks, preparing products to my retailers and I managed to f**k up my webpage during this chaotic period. My Icelandic webpage became wholesale front, with low prices and high quantity calculations for heavy delivering, added with mixed stock between Denmark and Iceland 🤯 I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined myself having to deal with problems like that … 😩😩

But I’ve managed to knit myself though this chaos, avoiding major meltdowns and can’t wait to unravel a little secret that me and Maro have in store when I come to Iceland early this October 🫶
