A minimalist sanctuary in the heart of Copenhagen 🕊️

We are incredibly proud to reveal our latest finalized project: a complete Japandi-inspired bedroom transformation tailored for modern Danish living.

For this Copenhagen apartment, our design narrative focused on stripping away visual clutter to introduce a profound sense of „hygge” and tranquility. By seamlessly blending Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian functionality, we evolved a dated space into a calm, light-filled retreat.

The Design Highlights:

🤎 Optimized Storage: A strategically integrated wardrobe from that blends into the architecture, maximizing floor space while keeping lines completely clean.

🤎 The Minimalist Anchor: A modern bed frame in dark natural wood from that beautifully grounds the room, adding a layer of quiet luxury against the soft palette.

🤎 Light & Reflection: A sleek vanity desk paired with a vertical mirror positioned opposite the window to bounce natural light deep into the room.

Swipe through the slides to explore our design process - from layout planning to the final, warm-toned material palette.

Is white paint a design trap?

As interior designers, we know how impactful white paint can be.
Yet, so many times we see it overused simply because it feels safer than choosing a specific color for your walls.

Did you ever listen to someone promising an „amazing” paint color, only to realize you absolutely HATE it after it hits your walls? 🫠👇

Choosing a paint color for your interior can feel incredibly overwhelming. It’s so easy to get lost in the myriad of paper swatches at the store, or fall into an endless scroll through Pinterest inspirations.

But here’s the mistake most people make: picking a color based on how it looks in the store and not considering unique space features which will greatly impact the final outcome.

As interior design studio in Copenhagen, we see it all the time. Paint is pure physics. The exact same shade can look like a cozy warm beige in morning sunlight, and turn into a cold, muddy grey by 4 PM depending on your room’s orientation. If you don’t factor in natural light influences, undertones, and color psychology, you risk a very expensive mistake.

Where should you even begin? How do you find that one perfect shade without the trial, error, and wasted money? 🎨 Well, we’ve got you covered.

Next week, we are dropping our ultimate, step-by-step Perfect Paint Guide to help you choose the right colors for your space with 100% confidence.

Goodbye, sad beige spaces! 👋 We checked out the brand-new IKEA PS 2026 collection at to see how it fits into the Kiki Design philosophy.

As interior designers in Copenhagen, we love taking classic Nordic minimalism and elevating it with Japandi warmth, Mid-Century Modern accents, and intentional pops of color. This new drop hits the brief perfectly! 🤩

Our top design picks & how we’d style them:
🪵 The Woven Pine Cabinet: Pure Japandi warmth! The texture is stunning, but we’re already dreaming of giving it a rich, custom dark wood stain.
💡 The Floor Lamp: That deep burgundy shade is everything! It adds a sophisticated metal pop of color to a room without overwhelming the space.
🛋️ The Inflatable Easy Chair: A bold, playful MCM statement piece wrapped in a sleek chrome frame.

Want to bring life, color, and warm minimalism into your own home? We’re currently booking interior design clients in Copenhagen and across the Nordics for Q3 2026 🇩🇰✨ Drop us a DM to chat about your space!

From scattered inspiration to a curated sanctuary🖋️

High-end design is about more than beautiful furniture; it’s about solving the challenges you didn’t even know were there - like a wardrobe placement that’s a few centimeters too tight or a palette that feels “busy” rather than “balanced”.

When Cheryl first came to us, she had a gallery full of inspiration but was facing the “noise” of too many choices. We leverage a bespoke, IT-driven process to filter that chaos, providing a clear structure that removes decision fatigue so we can focus on the details that truly matter.

The result? A dated space transformed into a warm, inviting sanctuary that finally feels like home ♥️

Swipe to read the process in Cheryl’s own words, and see the transformation at the end.

Thank you for the trust, Cheryl. It was a joy to bring this vision to life ✨

Olive Green as a new neutral 💚 ✨

Moving away from safe neutrals can be intimidating, but choosing a bold Scandinavian design piece like this TV cabinet from transforms a living room from “basic” to “bespoke”.

In our interior architecture practice, we always look for pieces that ground the space. This olive tone adds organic depth while maintaining that calm, sanctuary feel we were aiming for.

Design Tip: High-gloss finishes reflect light, making even dark colors feel bright and airy in smaller spaces.

What’s your “bold” color of choice for 2026? Let us know below! 👇

At Kiki Design, Transitional Design Style is one of our favorite aesthetics, and we’re keen to watch it mature.

In 2026, the look is defined by Organic Luxury - moving away from showroom perfection, and into a bolder, more tactile, and heritage-driven style. We are seeing the emergence of architectural arches, use of modern curved sofas and versatile decor, and a new appreciation for a grounded palette of espresso, moss, and clay.

Swipe through to see the anatomy of the new Transitional standard.

Love this style but don’t know where to start? Reach out to us - we’d love to bring this style to your space.

Why is Burgundy the most essential shade in modern interior design right now? 🍷 This deep red is more than a trend - it’s haptic, it’s healing, and it’s a master of temperature control.

From creating a sensory “cocoon” for high-anxiety lifestyles to physically warming up a room by 3° to 5°, burgundy is our secret weapon for high-functioning, high-drama spaces.

Swipe to see the color psychology behind why we love this shade so much at Kiki Design.
